I want Hudson to start this game

for Wiegman

I respect what he has done for the team

but has gotten pushed back more often than not this year. Hudson has looked good when he has played LG, but if he is going to be the center of the future might as well see what he can do there so Pioli will know what to do about the G/C position in the offseason.

Yeah that would send a crappy signal to FA Vets and current Vets.
“Come to KC and if we are out of the playoffs we are going to sit you and play younger players.”

What a year! At least we have the Royals... Oh Wait!

by KSU-Chief on Dec 27, 2011 2:21 PM CST up reply actions

That is how it should be

Why play a player only because he is a vet??? Do we play to win or play to satisfy the old folks that are still on our team? If Weigmann can’t handle it, then he is not a professional. At that level of play, you have to be prepared to be benched for a better option at any time. It is a team game and if someone else will help the team moreso than an old worn out boot, SO BE IT. Kinda harsh, but like I said It is the NFL and they are professionals. Only the best are there playing.

by chiefsisit!!! on Dec 27, 2011 2:41 PM CST up reply actions

So in your line of thinking

there is not ONE Vet who would sign a one year deal to play for KC. Why would they. You dont think they will look at how players are treated when making their choice? Would you go to a place where as soon as you are out of the hunt you get benched and can no longer play for your next contract?

What a year! At least we have the Royals... Oh Wait!

Benching him for this game would be a shame

I could actually see an argument for benching him while we were still hopeful of making the playoffs since he’s been getting beat so badly. Now that we’re out of the race, though, he should be allowed to maintain his dignity by retiring as a starter. What’s it going to hurt?

That being said, if he comes back next year, he should be a back-up from day one.

Todd Haley lost 7 of his last 15 games by 20 or more points. It was time for him to go.

If he's not performing and the team needs to see what it has in Hudson

why not? Wiegmann has been a decent player, but he’s not headed to any sort of hall of fame.

by Dagda on Dec 27, 2011 5:31 PM CST up reply actions

I see the benefit to your point

I think you start Wiegman, and bring Hudson in after the first drive or two. Purely out of respect.

by jakethesnake27 on Dec 27, 2011 3:08 PM CST via mobile up reply actions

Wiegmann's gonna push himself hard in this game. His last game, against one of his old teams.

Absolutely

I meant that he should get the start regardless. He’s going to play hard because he’s a professional. I do want to see a little play from Hudson.

by jakethesnake27 on Dec 27, 2011 4:49 PM CST via mobile up reply actions

start this game

as long as we’re trying out new people, put Stanzi in as starting QB. Chiefs aren,t playing for anything, they know what Orton can do. KIll playoff hopes with int’s as was the case in the Raiders game.

by trchief on Dec 27, 2011 4:14 PM CST up reply actions

Funny how,

You give up a big TD, and move up the depth chart. LOL Way to go Langford

I don't have a catchy, catch phrase.

by dbakerku on Dec 27, 2011 2:45 PM CST reply actions

That picture is the play he got beat on too

Men succeed when they realize that their failures are the preparation for their victories.

by KingChief on Dec 27, 2011 2:48 PM CST up reply actions

REALLY FUNNY

I was actually just thinking the same thing…..How do you get beat like that and get promoted, just goes to prove the point that everyone has been making that there even though we have Berry and Lewis from time to time we still don’t have enough depth at that position as well as many others

by Njohnson816 on Dec 27, 2011 2:48 PM CST reply actions

He is clearly a better tackler than Washington

and is usually in better position. You’re talking about 3rd stringers, the lesser of 2 evils.

by RamX21 on Dec 27, 2011 3:53 PM CST via mobile up reply actions

Langford

Also got beat to help us lose to Denver earlier this season on that Tebow to Decker pass if I recall correctly.

by chiefs_kc_fan on Dec 27, 2011 3:08 PM CST reply actions

YEP

That was him too, he is constantly out of position on deep passes

by Njohnson816 on Dec 27, 2011 3:25 PM CST up reply actions

Free Daniels!

I'm counting

Around 6 guys who, if cut, would probably not get signed by anyone else in the NFL…ever again.

Our depth needs a serious….Serious!….upgrade.

How long should you try? Until.

Whats the latest on COACH RUMORS

I heard Fisher is signed and the chiefs are waiting on the end of the season to announce

by chieftimbob on Dec 27, 2011 3:57 PM CST reply actions

Only a rumor

Crennel would not be around right now if he knew Pioli was just waiting to replace him. That would be a low class move by Pioli….so I dont believe it.

by Matt_Grbac on Dec 27, 2011 4:01 PM CST via mobile up reply actions

why put so much faith in Pioli??

I never liked Haley but i have to wonder if Haley ever had a chance to pick his own staff

by chieftimbob on Dec 27, 2011 4:06 PM CST up reply actions

Yes.

Other than Gailey (who he quickly fired), he’s had history with just about everyone on his staff.

by Tarkus on Dec 27, 2011 4:20 PM CST up reply actions

Rumor

They can’t hire anyone without a list of prospective applicants being sent to NFL. They also have to interview at least one black or minority coach. Crennel does not count as he is already on Chiefs staff.

by Al H on Dec 27, 2011 4:59 PM CST up reply actions

Start Stanzi

and give battle 20 carries. See what they can do so we know what we need in the draft. I agree with Hudson too, but I would start Casey out of respect. I also agree that there are a lot of guys on this team that are not signable by other teams, just not as many as when Herm left. What was it 20+ that never saw an NFL field again.

by maddirishman on Dec 27, 2011 3:58 PM CST reply actions

gotta play this game and beat Tebow

i know we should play some guys to evaluate but that should of been done when Orton was hurt and Helly continued to play Palko we all know we need a QB and a RB with some Oline on the side

by chieftimbob on Dec 27, 2011 4:01 PM CST up reply actions

Good news guys!!! Two Chiefs ended up in the Probowl roster!!!

Tamba Hali and Derrick Johnson!!! Great for them to represent us!!!

Do you smell what the Chiefs are cooking?
