Huge rec

Kyle Orton is The Matrix – Freaking awesome
Matt Cassel is the Matrix 2 – some good moments, but a big disappointment
Tyler Palko is the Matrix 3 – Pretty bad, with one kickass scene (The hailmary)

Makes sense, I don't understand any of them.

Nice!

Nice touch with the Dolphins celebrating.

by CMatthews on Dec 21, 2011 9:55 PM CST reply actions

Oh frick I'm stupid

I thought, what a random ending with the champagne and then the Dolphin song, never put 2 and 2 together and realized it was the 72 Dolphins celebrating. Just as an aside, how annoying is Mercury Morris and that crew? I almost wish the Packers would have pulled off 19-0 to shut that overrated team up. Almost.

I didn't get the Dolphins reference at first either.

But figured it out by the end.

Saaaaaaaaweet composition - excellent editing Clay!!!!!!

Rec’d 100x if I can because I know the hours you’ve put into editing this

Neo/KO: I’m gonna show this people what (a real QB) you don’t want them to see
I’m gonna show them a world without you (Cassel)
- a world without rules and control (Haley)
- without borders or boundaries (Haley)
- a world where anything is possible (a world where you don’t just dump off 2 yd pass to RB on each play)

Todd Haley - Crennel just prove to the world that you're a f***ing Joke! Matt Cassel - Orton showed with 3 weeks of practice you can beat the world champions. #7 your legacy is...you don't have one, you're a backup all along. Should never have been a starter in the NFL.

He's actually 8-4 as a starter.

I mean I’m just sayin. Why do people ignore his first season?

by bamachief5558 on Dec 22, 2011 7:39 PM CST via mobile up reply actions   1 recs

Do you refer to Brady as 86-14 or 10-3?

I don’t know his actual numbers, but I just can’t fathom why it’s important to you to point out that he lost two games previous to this season. I don’t think it’s normal for fans to reference Matt Ryan’s career record when speaking of what he’s doing this year. It’s just not normal.

But hey, for the record… Kyle Orton has a shitty career record. So I guess we shouldn’t talk about his one win last week?

Teams that want to bend it like Brady better be ready to get broken like Cassel. We hurt quarterbacks and we take picks to he house. It's what we do.

You had NO Running game when Orton was playing...

with Tebow your running game has come to life, and your Defense has been playing extremely well…

I am a UF guy and a Tebow fan (hate his new team) see link http://www.milehighreport.com/2010/6/15/1519108/go-tebow-i-hope-you-never-win-a

Orton is a definite upgrade over Cassel, that’s all I care about right now…
Have fun watching next week when we stomp a mudhole in your donkey asses…

Sure, Orton is all you've got and he's better than Cassel

For as tiring as it likely gets for you to hear about how good Orton is (or isn’t), it’s easily more tiring for us to hear about how great our defense and running game is… as if Tebow has nothing to do with it.

Playing Tebow opened up the running game. The running game helped the defense improve. And look, two of our last three or so opponents have put up more than 30 points on us. So it’s not like the defense is playing lights-out. The biggest difference is that Orton was turning the ball over twice per game by himself. Tebow doesn’t throw those picks, so our defense isn’t out of position as much.

And again, he IS the reason our run game suddenly caught fire.

Teams that want to bend it like Brady better be ready to get broken like Cassel. We hurt quarterbacks and we take picks to he house. It's what we do.

We wish Kyle well

just not against the Broncos. How long has Kyle been in the league vs. Tim Tebow. I don’t expect you to like him, but the worst pass in league moniker is so off. In terms of passing rating he is like 12th. The wins speak for themselves. Kyle had some great moments in Denver last year but just wasn’t a good fit.

And for those who think Orton is a "statue"

Check this out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wRKTh19Hrfk&feature=related

Also, you might catch his final game in 2009 against KC, when he ran all over the field.

Not a prisoner of the moment.

Yes, Orton had a good game. But after a month of Palko, it likely looked better than it was! I have mentioned before that Orton and Cassel are real close statistically, and about even in the QB hierarchy. Let’s see how he finishes the season before annointing him as our savior. If he plays real well, then I am all for the Chiefs retaining him, with or without Cassel in camp next season. I don’t know if they will spend the bucks needed for both, but after the Palko experiment, I sure as Hell would! Let them compete for the starting job, then even possibly trade the loser, if there is confidence in Stanzi, or a high draft pick to be number 2 or 3.

There once was a man from Nantucket......Nevermind.

by Racyman on Dec 22, 2011 11:11 PM CST reply actions

There is no competition! Orton is the better quarterback by a landslide.

They need to sign him and keep Stanzi and draft another quarterback. Stanzi and other quarterback for the future.

by Mr.Pibbs on Dec 23, 2011 10:41 AM CST up reply actions

I agree on wait-and-see

But then, I agree on that with about any player. The NFL is a wait-and-see league. Any player is only as good as his next game.

But how much better could it have looked? 75% comp, 299 yds, 100.9 QBR?

And, once again, when considering those “close” stats between Orton and Cassel, also consider the respective defenses and running games. Cassel had far superior supporting casts in both cases.

I love my wife.

by AZDynamics on Dec 23, 2011 11:24 AM CST up reply actions

Congrats on the 'up', but prepare for the downs

Kyle isn’t horrible by any stretch. But he’s not ‘the one’. You’ll learn this on your own, though.

Teams that want to bend it like Brady better be ready to get broken like Cassel. We hurt quarterbacks and we take picks to he house. It's what we do.

As will you about Tebow.

Games about over dude. You better hope Elway hit’s the reset button

I don't have a catchy, catch phrase.

by dbakerku on Dec 23, 2011 11:52 AM CST up reply actions

Ok, so comparing Orton and Cassel...

Watch the play where Orton drops back, sets his feet, looks at the primary receiver, pump fakes to make the safety bite, after looking off the safety, looks across the field, checks down for a twenty yard pass to Pope. That’s a QB, Cassel did not do those things. I like Cassel enough as a guy and wish he would have come through better for us, but we don’t get this kind of play out of him.

by CapnCribbs on Dec 23, 2011 12:26 PM CST reply actions

I was hoping

that the childish Tebow/Orton debate would stay within the confines of the Broncos boards. Each is going to decide his own fate with his respective team, and it will not depend on what the other does.

When KC faces off against Denver, it will be Orton vs. Tebow in the eyes of the media and drooling fans only. What it will really be is KC’s 45 players against Denver’s 45 players, and the better 45 will win. Much will depend on what the respective QBs do, of course, but one’s performance will neither buoy nor drag down the other’s.

In the same spirit, one QB should not be denigrated in hopes of building up the other. It doesn’t work like that . . .

I love my wife.

Exactly.

Orton isn’t suddenly the face of the franchise. It’s the CHIEFS vs the BRONCOS.

by CapnCribbs on Dec 23, 2011 3:07 PM CST up reply actions

Exactly.

This is a funny post. We as Chiefs fans were having fun enjoying a big victory. Just because we were the better team on 1 day does not mean that we think we are a better team than GB. But honestly, it doesn’t matter which team is the “best team”. What matters is winning the game. GB wasn’t the “best team” last year, yet they won the SB.
As far as Orton goes, we don’t know what he is or can be yet. But the funny thing about our team is that even with all of our injuries, we only need a solid QB to be really good. I believe Orton can be a solid QB. But in the end, time will tell.

I am just glad Denver has hitched their wagon to Tebow for next year

When teams look at film over the offseason and shut down the option, Denver’s offense could fall into the toilet.

Denver radio yesterday was talking about how the Chiefs figured out how to deal with Tebow.

By shutting down the option and not giving Tebow any targets with MTM coverage.
They were also whining that they should have kept Orton….lol..
