Hot Damn! Did you all see what I saw? I saw a QB having fun on the field and he was playing for our Chief's. Now this post isn't about how much money he will make if we sign him to stay here in KC. Nor is it about picking apart his game, based on his past experiences in the league. Nope, this post is about the joy we experienced as a whole that happened when Kyle Orton became the starting QB for our team.
And why shouldn't we be happy? For that matter why shouldn't Kyle Orton be happy? Think about it a little. Pioli brought in some play makers, which have been under utilized for whatever reason, and Kyle gets the nod as starter and all of a sudden this team looked like a pro football team should. Christmas came early for all involved. Maybe a good thing happened here in the Heartland. The last time a Purdue alum was quarterbacking the KC team we went to, and won a Super Bowl. Yeah I know, where you went to college has no bearing on anything.
But it appears to me before over analyzing every little thing that some magic happened here and I for one and pleased. What a situation for a guy looking for a team to call home finds here. Offensive weapons abound here and just about any QB would be salivating for the chance to run this offense with the play makers that are on this team. And 2 of them are out on IR. Why would we move him out of here? Or for that matter, why would he want to leave this situation? Obviously it was a good fit as witnessed the enjoyment we saw Orton and the rest of the team were having. If you never experienced something in team sports similar to this then you might not understand.
After defending and supporting Matt Cassel, I can say I am ready to see Kyle get a chance to run this offense next year and if it has similar results and a little fun I can see this team being what we all have been wanting. A solid contender with a chance to WIN!!! Indeed I believe Christmas came early in the Chief's Kingdom and it IS the season of miracles. Maybe we make the playoffs, even with the unlikeyhood of that coming to fruition the chance is there. Oh how much fun that would be. It may end up as the biggest roller coaster ride I would ever experience with this team. Hot Damn! Go Kyle Orton! Go Kansas City!
