I've been looking back at what Todd Haley has been saying this week about Tyler Palko vs. Kyle Orton on Sunday for the Chicago Bears game and from what I can tell Haley's line has always been: "Tyler's our starter."
Maybe it's a matter of semantics but I haven't heard Haley say, "Tyler is starting on Sunday." The Kansas City Chiefs head coach joined Waddle and Silvy on ESPN 1000 in Chicago this morning and the hosts straight up told Haley they think he's bluffing.
Here's the exchange...
Waddle and Silvy: We know you. We've talked about it on our show. We think you're bluffing. We think Orton may start this game.
Haley: Like I said, Tyler's our starter. Kyle may have to play, and he may not. Obviously there are a lot of factors that go into this and we need to do whatever we have to to try to have a chance to win. You have my word on that.
Waddle and Silvy: So you're giving us your word that Palko's starting for sure?
Haley: You have my word we'll do anything we have to to win.
