Game ball goes to ____ in arguably the best win of the season?
Wow, what a game! Coming in to the game 5-8, nobody in the world was expecting Kansas city to knock out the "unbeatable" Green Bay Packers. But it happened, somehow. Let's take a look at that somehow.
From the first drive of the game for both teams, it was evident that this wasn't going to be a high-scoring game. This game was going to be won through physical, well executed play. And who does that better than Romeo Crennel?
The offensive playcalling was noticeably different than Haley's, many plays were elaborate (yet very effective) screens. And I'm sure Le'Ron McClain was happy that he finally got the ball (and he definitely did well with it, whether he was running of receiving. Not to mention he had many key blocks). The offense was utilizing the fullback and a blocking TE (Anthony Becht) much more, which is what I was expecting from Crennel.
But aside from wonderful playcalling, the players simply did better than they have done in weeks past. Orton had anywhere from 5 to 8 seconds in the pocket to throw (somehow B-Rich manhandled Clay Matthews all game), and the RB's had gaping holes to run through.
Orton threw absolutely perfect passes.
the RB's and receivers were doing everything they could after the catch to fight for extra yards, and both blocked incredibly well (I'm never gonna forget Jackie Battle coming all the way across the pocket just to drill Clay Matthews and send him flying to the ground).
DJ, Belcher, and the D-line allowed absolutely nothing on the ground.
Hali was playing at full beast-mode capacity, absolutely having his way with Marshall Newhouse and devouring Aaron Rodgers. Houston had some pressures, too.
The secondary allowed absolutely nowhere to go with the ball.
in your opinion who gets games ball, and long live CHIEFS NATION!

agree
Team was prepared and bought in to RAC. Respect and playing hard for Romeo because he commanded it. The game was great well planned and executed.

Mas, the best comment I've ever seen in my short time here....Kudos and rec'd

ORTON
You could say this was the HC change, but more then the HC change I think it was FINALLY making the QB change that made a huge difference. Getting Time of Possession, keeping rodgers off the field & resting our defense, and MOVING THE BALL DOWN FIELD, we haven’t done that more than once or twice a game for 3 weeks, orton comes in & does it nearly every drive!
Time of possesion was huge
Keeping Rodgers off the field + lack of turnovers = win, nice game plan.

Oh, I think Haley wanted to bring in Orton.
Just his dumb luck that Orton got hurt on that first gadget play.

Who is arguing this?

Hard to say, I didn't vote
It was a true team win.

I didn't vote because Succop wasn't on the poll.
Probably wouldn’t have voted for him tho, lol.
"saints_chiefsfan1979 is a genius" - yes, I lost a bet.
This team IS good enough for a journeyman QB to be successful.
Couldn’t/didn’t pass judgement on Cassel until somebody better came in.
Make no mistake. A team that can get to Orton WILL cause him problems. But you give him decent time, he has all the awareness and throwing proficiency to prosper in this offense.
Did GB take pity? Did they pull in their horns after Bulaga went out? I know Rodgers was smiling at Crennel wiping the tears out of his eyes.
would of ≠ would've
Rodgers was smiling at one of the Chiefs player doing the Discount Double Take at him after the win
Todd Haley - Crennel just prove to the world that you're a f***ing Joke! Matt Cassel, Orton just showed us how 3 weeks of practice is enough to beat world champions. Yeah, Matt again has been proven to be a backup QB. Should never have been a starter in the NFL.

If you would told me in week 2
that the Chiefs would beat the Packers, I would have slapped you silly. Game ball goes to the team.

Scott Pioli
for making the decision to fire Todd Haley. I didnt want to see Haley go cuz I think he can be a good coach but now I am beginning to wonder if Haley was intentionally sabotaging the offense just to piss off Pioli, cuz we looked like a completely different team today
Not having Ryan Succop on this poll is an insult to badass football players.
He hasn’t missed a FG since the first quarter of week 3 vs. SD. He’s hit 21 in a row, including 4 yesterday. Chiefs don’t win that game without Ryan’s leg.

Succop! Bringing leg when the red zone lays an egg
I'm so overrated, I'm underrated.
