Barring a miracle run, the Chiefs are not going to the playoffs.
I am not going to predict when we play each game after giving an offseason.
This is assuming we finish third.
The Chiefs will trade Dwayne Bowe or Brandon Carr, Glen Dorsey and their first to the Colts to draft Luck or resign Bowe and pick up Peyton Manning and then franchise and trade Carr or Bowe and Dorsey to the Colts for their second in 2012 and their first in 2013.
We also resign LeRon McClain and then sign Tony Gonzalez. Release Tyler Palko and trade Cassel for a third. Leaving Manning or Luck and Stanzi at QB.
Tony needs to realize that barring a 2010 Packers type run, he is not going to win a Super Bowl in Atlanta. He should come home and should be the final piece to the offensive puzzle after we get Manning or Andrew Luck. For the first time in KC, he will not be the only viable receiver.
We have Tony Moeaki, Dwayne Bowe, Jonathon Baldwin, Steve Breaston, Dexter McCluster and Jamaal Charles now to catch the ball already. With a good QB to get him the ball, he will be a part of the puzzle and not the only guy. He has that in Atlanta but the Packers own the NFC.
Our starting lineup in the new offense should be
QB- Peyton Manning or Andrew Luck
WR-Dwayne Bowe (barring trade), Steve Breaston, Jonathon Baldwin, Dexter McCluster
TE-Tony Moeaki, Tony Gonzalez
RB-Jamaal Charles, Jackie Battle
FB-LeRon McClain
Tackles-Branden Albert, FA/Draft Pick/Barry Richardson
Guards-Ryan Lilja, Jon Asmoah
Center-Rodney Hudson
Starting Defense
DE- Amon Gordon, Wallace Gillbery
NT- Jerell Powe
LB- Justin Houston, Jovan Belcher, Derrick Johnson, Tamba Hali
CB-Brandon Flowers, Jallil Brown or Brandon Carr
Special Teams
K-Ryan Succop
KR/PR- Javier Arenas, Dexter McCluster
In terms of schedule, we get the AFC North (Steelers, Ravens, Bengals and Browns), NFC South (Falcons, Saints, Panthers and Buccaneers). The other teams are the Jaguars and the Bills (I smell payback).
I will say that we should be the best team in the AFC West. The Chargers are falling, the Raiders have no future and the Donkeys have to hope teams don't figure out they run the Wild Cat. A healthy team, we should finish 10-6 or better and first the AFC West.
