Under theory that Scott Piolli will hire Josh Mcdaniels as the new head coach of the Kansas City Chiefs I am mentally trying to prepare myself for that outcome and doing my best to find the positives of my reality as a lifelong Chiefs fan red blinders always engaged.
The first positive has to be the relationship he has with Scott Piolli. We all just saw what a strained Coach/GM relationship can do to a team. The pressure this hire will put on both parties involved will push them in the same direction they will have to be on the same page and have each others back. Sink or swim as a team has to be a good thing.
The second positive would be his ability to install an offensive system and establish some coaching consistency. The last three years we have seen three offensive cordinators, and a head coach that couldn't agree with any of them on how said offence should be called. Josh will have to take control install his system, its what he is good at and that's what this team needs. This will also help Matt Cassel he has worked with the system and was good under Mcdaniels. No matter what Cassel will be on this team in 2012 even if we draft a QB keeping Cassel is a must for this team under Mcdaniels.
The third positive I find is he was fired by the Denver Broncos. Some of you will quickly ask why could that possibly be a positive. Easy. I told you so motivation, simple as that.
When the donks hired Josh he was the youngest head coach in the NFL. An offensive guy he was hired by a team with a bad defense and then given control over not only coaching but also player personel he quickly was in over his head. I say hire Mcdaniels as a offensive coordinator or even as a head coach. With Piolli as GM and Crennel coaching this defense I think he could be perfect for the job.
