Hey guys I'm arodgb over from APC, and I'll take any questions you might have about next weeks game!
[Edit: Wow, sorry guys, PackApologist already had an 'ask a Packer fan thread up. You can go to it
So instead, use this thread to talk with fellow Packer fans about whatever you'd like. Consider it an open thread if you will, kinda like a Packers-Chiefs friendly get together. Or, just go to Pack Apologists post and continue the party over there.]
If you don't mind, please rec this so this stays at the top for the week. Thanks.
First off, some information on our team this year...
Aaron Rodgers has been lights out this year.
Running backs haven't been as good, but James Starks and Ryan Grant provide a decent 1-2 combo. Starks might be injured for this week's game, so you'll have to stop Ryan Grant, who had his best game in the last two years last week.
Our offensive line has been good. Left tackle and right guard are the weak spots, as both our excellent starters [Chad Clifton and Josh SItton] are injured and won't play. The backups can be exploited, as both have struggled this year. Our right tackle, Brian Bulaga, and center, Scott Wells, both are having pro bowl caliber seasons.
Wide receivers and tight ends have both been pretty good. Our wide receviers have suffered from drops the last couple weeks, but are extremely explosive and run after the catch well. Tight ends have also been good, but Jermichael Finley has struggled with drops, and isn't quite as good as some make him out to be. Defiantly gotta keep an eye on him, though.
Defensive Line has been our weak link, our Nose Tackle, BJ Raji, has really taken a step back from last season's form. Across from him, we have a couple good run stuffers, but no other D-lineman can really rush the passer, which hurts us.
Linebackers have really stepped it up recently, with our two starters being out [AJ Hawk and Desmond Bishop]. DJ Smith and Robert Francois have started in their respective places, and have actually outplayed the tandem of Bishop and Hawk. Clay Matthews hasn't been getting the sacks, but he's been creating more pressure than ever in his career, and has really improved in every aspect of his game.
Our secondary hasn't been as strong recently, but they've been creating turnovers. Four interceptions last week. Tramon Williams has once again been our best cover man, and Woodson has created a ton of turnovers this year. Really, if there's one player to watch out for on the Packers, it's Woodson. Our safeties haven't been great in coverage this year, but they play hard, and have a nose for the football.
Special Teams: Mason Crosby has only missed twice this year, and Tim Masthay has been on a tear recently punting the ball. He seems to punt the ball better in cold weather, for whatever reason. Randall Cobb is a dangerous return man, but he's had quite a few fumbles, and is mistake prone.
Looking forward to the game this week! Best of luck, and no injuries :-)
