I love me some Romeo Crennel. I Think he's a fabulous DC. There have been games this season where I swear I could see his brain out on the field with the other 11 guys. They performances our Defense up against NE and PIT, and even last year vs IND were due in large part to Crennel out-scheming the opponent. That said, I don't really think he should be the new HC next season. I never followed the Browns, so I don't know how well he did out there. To help shed light on his time as HC in CLE, I've gotten the Browns blog involved. Beyond that, I just fear he's too good of a DC to give up. Sure, as HC he could still have a big footprint on the defense, but I'm not sure that's a positive. Just look as the Haley fiasco. A good HC needs to be able to let his coordinators run their squads. I think we're safer keeping Crennel in the role he's proven to be good at, and that's DC.I don't take issue with making him the interim coach; he's the no brainier option. I just hope he will be willing to hand the reigns over to
Bill Cowher our new HC next year and keep this terror of a defense going.
