First Injury Reports Out For The Chiefs And Broncos
The initial injury reports are out for both the Kansas City Chiefs and Denver Broncos, who will meet at Arrowhead Stadium in Week 10 on Sunday. Once again the Chiefs have less injured players to report than their opponent with three to the Broncos' seven.
For the Chiefs, LB Demorrio Williams did not practice (groin), S Jon McGraw was limited (shoulder) and CB Javier Arenas was a full go (ankle). McGraw and Arenas missed last weekend's game against the Miami Dolphins. Sounds like they're on the road to recovery. No word on what's up with Williams.
For the Broncos, LB Wesley Woodyard (knee) was the only one not to participate in practice. Five players were limited including S Brian Dawkins (thigh), TE Virgil Green (neck), RB Spencer Larsen (shoulder), S Rahim Moore (concussion), and CB Cassius Vaughn (hamstring). RB Willie McGahee practiced in full with a hand injury.
It seems surprising to say, but McGraw might be the most important player listed for the Chiefs. I think it's as much about McGraw as it is the depth behind him (which is hitting the third string with Eric Berry already out).

Don’t think McGraw makes much difference. I’d rather see Washington get the time. The position is going to suck either way, might as well see if Washington can improve. Arenas, on the other hand, must play.

I can't decide who is worse
McGraw is smart but slow and Washington is fast but dumb.I guess, I would rather have Mcgraw(begrudgingly ) out there because, he has made some resemblance plays this year.Washington is another wasted pick by Pioli

Washington still has some potential because he can do it physically, just not mentally. Mcgraw just blows.

I would take Mcgraw over Washington
Again,we are splitting hairs over 2 sub par players. But Washington has yet to make a play and doesn’t look like he ever will.At least with Mcgraw I know i’m not going to get a lot of mental errors. But again,in a perfect world they both would be replaced

I think that is the point
McGraw isn’t very good…yet Pioli/Haley can’t find a guy to beat him out of the spot? Seems odd.
Agree
And safety is 1 of the easier positions to find a quality starter/depth

never gets any credit...
Joel- I have read a couple of posts where you have mentioned that it is not really about McGraw but the lack of talent behind him. These statements don’t make very much sense. Would you say that it really isn’t about Jamaal Charles it is just the fact none of his backups are better than him? No, because it sounds foolish. They have depth charts for a reason and when starters get hurt you have less talented players on the field. I am a long time reader and I have never been able to figure out your subtle digs at McGraw. He has proven he is a better option than Washington and not as good as Berry. But again, the coaches have this figured out and that is why Berry starts, McGraw is his backup and Washington is third string.

I think what Joel is trying to say in those instances
Is that the problem isn’t really with McGraw. Yeah, we all know he isn’t very good. The fact that we have no one on this team capable of taking his spot by being a better football player is an indictment on the entire organization.
I'd take McGraw
Because he’s better against the run at times I guess maybe:( I’ve been having nightmares about Tebow running for 200 yards thru our secondary, plus I’ll be at the game to watch it happen.

Man I hope McGahee can't go.
He was a good pick up for the Broncos and twice as good as Knowshow.

I'll take McGraw
He seems to be around the ball during run plays just missing sometimes in coverage. However, he can make some big plays more than what I can about Washington at this point.

Opponent injuries
Why do we even care at this point who is hurt for the opposition? Think about it, how many times did the announcers mention how many new Chargers were on the field Monday night? All that newness and all those replacement parts still gave the Chiefs the business…and should have won in Arrowhead.
This team (KC) eeked by a BAD Indianapolis team who is missing one of, if not THE, most recognizable figures in the NFL. It just seems to me that this team has a way of making 2s and 3s look like HOF candidates.
No opposition ever loses a step against KC, even with multiple injuries to multiple good players. The only real exception to that rule has been the Raiders. Thanks to their horrid QB play, we walked out with a win. But realistically, their defense was beat to hell and our offense didn’t do a whole heck of a lot against them.
