I am honestly sick of these people jumping off of the chiefs wagon. To those people please don't come back next year when we are tuning up other teams to a 12-13 win season next year (We play the AFC North and NFC South btw). People fail to realize that we are not as bad as our record suggests. With a competant quarterback I say we are easily 7-4 at this point in the season.
Our defense has been outstanding minus our run defense at times and the occasional broken coverage allowing about one big play a game. Keep in mind, this is without our pro bowl game changing safety who for the first few games of the season (Note the blowouts week 1 and 2) we had to change our defensive scheme completely from what we had been doing all training camp.
We have amazing playmakers on offense this is minus our pro bowl RB and fringe pro bowl TE.Not counting Cassel, look he is (as has been stated before) a game manager who can throw the ball when there is consistently 8 in the box trying to stop J-Chuck from torching them for the avg. 100yds/game. He is not a pro bowl qb. So with that said, I was encouraged with last night.
Defense wins championships as they say. The fact that we were able to shut down the NFC champion Pittsburgh Steelers with all of their playmakers says a lot. We don't have a legit SILB, NT, or FS right now and still were able to keep them in check with btw almost no rest with repeated 3 and outs by the offense. So with fringe journeymen gaining experience as starters in primetime, we now know what we have.
So we will be getting back in my eyes three pro bowlers, an ok quarterback, a full offseason (please blossom Houston), and a draft where we will be picking very high, I would say much higher than our talent level would suggest. Can you honestly look in the mirror and say that our team talent wise is on the same level as the teams we will be picking near? No. But these high picks if well research can make our team SCARY good.
I believe we should stack up our team with the remaining starters (OL, NT, SILB) and depth and give Cassel and Orton ONE last shot to make it with a stacked team, im talking Pats stacked. If they can't make it, give up the kitchen sink to pick at the top of the 2013 draft, get our QBOTF and say hello to perpetual playoff runs. I'm pumped how bout you?
I know the team is not good this year and yes I’m a blind optimist who always hopes the Chiefs will do good. The point of this was mainly to call out the few people on Fanposts who said they are now going to be fans of other teams. That makes me sick to my stomach. Look at how long Lion fans have had to wait and now they are finally being rewarded.
Yes I know that we will probably not be a playoff contender unless a QB’s name is picked this April in the first round, which knowing our franchise the fact that we have three journeymen QB’s and a rookie. We’ll unfortunately not draft a QB and set this franchise further back. Imagine hearing RGIII, Barkley, or Landry. This site would crash with the excitement.
Have I been frustrated with this team? Yes. Do I question many of the moves our coach and GM have made? Yes. Do I ever consider rooting for another team no matter how crappy they are? NO and that’s the damn point. It’s funny how I being originally from New York feel more attached and dedicated to this team than some of you locals.

Don’t worry Chiefs fans….we have a very young team and when thomas jones and casey weigmann leave, it’ll probably be the youngest…I see a bright future ahead…Sometimes it’s darkest just before dawn
