What a game! You know, before every game like this (as in a game I don't expect to win), I tell myself "I don't care if KC wins, just keep it close so it looks like a close game and we don't get embarassed." And every time they keep it close, I get mad when they lose. But still, there were positives in this loss.
Pros!
-The defense, for the most part, held their ground against a great offense. Got decent pressure, held the run down, corners covered their guys well, the only real problem is that no one would wrap up!
-The O-line had a decent game with a starter out, especially against Pittsburgh's blitz-happy defense. Gave Palko a little time, and did ok opening up holes for a team that's facing 9 men in the box on first down.
-Kansas City held their own against the AFC's finest, and without any of their star playhers, too.
Cons...
-Palko, at best, is fucking terrible. 4 turnovers, many missed passes, and just all-around shitty play. Give Stanzi a shot, how much worse could he do?
-The secondary has major problems wrapping up, as stated before.
-The running game did little, which was expected since we are facing one of the best run-defenses in the NFL.
-Our receivers are soft. Let's face it, Baldwin runs out of bounds when he could at least try to use his 6'5, 230 pound body to fight for a little extra yardage. And the biggest mistake of all, Dwayne Bowe not even attempting to catch or swat down the pass that lost us this game, because he was scared of getting hit.
