fire muir? weis was nice.

What happened to our 2010 KC Offense. #1 in rushing, #9 in total offense, and #11 in total points.  Is Jamaal Charles to be credited with 100% of that production from 2010? would we have had 1 of the worst ranked offenses last year without him?

I think not, and I believe that a lot of people are blaming Cassel or Haley or have just placed all the blame on the injuries.  But I think people are missing out on the biggest & most obvious change in our offense, the man designing the offense, the man calling the plays, the offensive Coordinator Bill Muir.

in 2009 the Chiefs allowed Haley to run the show on offense, clearly that was not working.

In 2010 we hired Charlie Weis.  He gave us our best offensive production & helped give us our best record since 2005.  This came completely out of nowhere after a 4-12 2009.  In just 1 year he did this! He helped make Charles & Bowe probowlers & Cassel had the most productive year of his career.

Looking towards 2011 with a healthy mccluster & drafting a top WR Baldwin to go alongside Bowe, and picking up Breaston out of free agency, this offense looked to be on the rise.  Our biggest problem on offense in 2010 was passing, and everything we had done in the offseason seemed to be to help sure that up.  Not to mention adding a premier full back in Mcclain to help improve our already TOP RANKED rushing offense, and give a great blocker out of the backfield against the pass rush.

Then came Bill Muir.  The #'s speak for themself this year.  We have been enemic on offense, out of the top 10 in rushing, and 1 of, if not THE, worst ranked passing offense in the league despite all those WR improvements we made in the offseason.

I think all signs point to Weis being the difference in what was once a great KC offense in 2010, and what we've seen in the 2009 & thus far in the 2011 seasons.  Muir isn't working out just as Haley hadn't worked out in 09.  Will bringing in a new coordinator be the difference or is weis some sort of offensive god that can't be replaced.  Lets hope not.  But I am certainly not just waving this season off because of injuries, I think the biggest issue we have on this team is at offensive coordinator & I hope the chiefs front office realizes that too.
