I am looking at this from the perspective of a) Pioli is here to stay for 2012 and needs a big year to extend his contract beyond 2013, another typical Todd Haley fiasco filled blow outloss filled season will not only seal Haleys fate but Pioli's as well. If there is any time for Pioli to use his mulligan its now, ther is no "easy schedule" in 2012 to bail out Haley unless of course you consider the AFC North and NFC South "easy". Any coach that depends on an "easy" scedule in his 4th year has no substance, at least the type that plays for super bowls, and should thus be terminated.
B) Looking at replacements Pioli will only consider those coaches with ties to Parcells/Belicheck and possibly the Ravens due to his ties to Ozzie Newsome. A good example of this is Falcons GM Thomas Dimitroff (a former patriot scout) hiring Mike Smith a former Ravens assistant. I have thrown out the bull sh8t of "Bill Cowher/Gruden" as the only coaches that would get hired again hae ties either directly or indirectly to Pioli with one lone exception at the end:
Haley-no need for "continuity" here, was "continuity" going to make Herm Edwards a better coach?
Mc_Aniels- a dry heave troughout the Chiefs nation but yes it could happen.
Bill O'Brien-Patriots oc, could be mc_d 2.0 but appears far more calm and collected on pats sideline, may warrant an interview.
Chuck Pagano-Ravens dc, only has one year as a coordinator but that hasn't stopped other coaches, ravens d is still humming fine when their offense doesn't turn the ball over.
Billick-former Ravens hc, has a sb ring, nearly identitcal record as Cowher's last 9 years, the chin had 3 years of bathroom beat qb, billick had Boller. has managed a team through crisis see 2000 and 2002 ravens.
Ryan-Patriots lb coach 2000-2003, makes chicken salad from chicken sh7t.
Zimmer-Bengals dc, Cowboys dc under Parcells, five times his defenses have been in the top 10 in 12 years as a dc, 9 of the last 11 years his defnses have ranked 16 th or higher, maes alot of chicken salad out of chicken sh7t.
Arians-Steelers oc. This would be the Clark Hunt intervention. Hunt wants the Chiefs to be build like the Steelers organization and yet head scratcher hires a Patriot. Clark wanted Pioli to interview Arians but Pioli passed and is paying for it, maybe this time Clark grows a set and realizes he owns the team and can do like the other Dallas owner and do as he damn well pleases.
who should be the Chiefs hc in 2012?
