After Week 8 our beloved Kansas City Chiefshave a 4-3 record after an 0-3 start, talk about your roller coaster rides. It's is almost like the Chiefs started the season with the lights off, then somewhere between weeks 3 and 4 flipped the switch. Lets take a closer look at the statistics between Weeks 1-3 and 4-8 after the Jump to see what exactly has changed....
I don't think I need to remind anyone of just how bad the Chiefs started the season Weeks 1 though 3, and while it might be tough to look at here are the stats from those games...

The stat that stands out to me is of course the points scored/allowed...Our Offense was averaging 9 points per game while our Defense was giving up 36.3. Ouch! We were losing on every level, Turnovers, Time of Possession, Rushing, Passing, ect...Needless to say, we played FUGLY Football. Then something happened, the switch was flipped and the lights came on Weeks 4-8...

Our Offense crancked up the points scored by 13.5 (up to 22.5/game), while our Defense tied down points allowed by a whopping 20.8 (down to 15.5/game). Talk about turning on the lights!!!

The "Major" differences I see:
Turnovers: The Offense cut turnovers average in HALF going from giving it up 3.3 times per game to only 1.5. While our Defense took the ball TWICE AS MUCH going from an average 1.3 Interceptions/Fumble Recoveries to 2.75. That is an illuminating stat folks.
Third Down Efficiency: Improvements again on both sides of the ball with the Offense going from converting 28% to 48% (that is TWENTY PERCENT jump), while our Defense clamped down on our opponents going from allowing a 47% completion percentage on 3rd down to only 35%.
Matt Cassel and the passing game: Through the first 3 Weeks Cassel and our WR's were averaging a paltry 131 YPG...over the last 4 games Matt, Dwayne, Steve, Jonathan and Co. have averaged 224 YPG. Our passing game is starting to shine (and with "Jonny B Good" Baldwin starting to step up it could get a WHOLE lot brighter)!

The Chiefs might not be the brightest bulbs in the NFL box, but if you flip their switch...they will light our way!!!
