Another breakdown and who would have thought we would win 4 in a row?  It has been an up and down season thus far but it seems like our Chiefs are on the right path.  This week the Chiefs face a winless Dolphins team with a short week to prepare.  The Dolphins just can't seem to put a win together but the Chiefs shouldn't sleep on them.

I'll take a look at passing, rushing, special teams, and coaching.  I'll even look at the x-factor while trying to be as unbiased as possible.

Chiefs QB:  Matt Cassel

Dolphins QB:  Matt Moore

The Dolphins are 25th in passing yards per game with 202 yards per game through the air.  The Chiefs are ranked 18th in passing yards per game with 184 yards per game through the air.  The Dolphins defense is ranked 27th in the league allowing 271 yards per game through the air.  The Chiefs defense is ranked 20th in the league allowing 251  yards per game through the air.  The Dolphins defense is allowing the opposing QB's this year to complete 62 percent of their passes.  The Dolphins defense has 2 interceptions to their credit.  The Chiefs defense is allowing the opposing QB's this year to complete 59 percent of their passes.  The Chiefs defense has 13 interceptions to their credit.  Moore came in after Chad Henne got hurt  Moore has thrown only 4 TD's but also has 4 INT's.  Moore's completion percentage is just around 57 percent.  Cassel has thrown 9 TD's but also has 9 INT's.  Cassel's completion percentage is around 63 percent.

The Dolphins are ranked 12th in the league with 117 yards per game.  The Chiefs are ranked 9th in the league with 124 yards per game.  The Dolphins are 13th in the league when stopping the run allowing 110 rushing yards per game.  The Chiefs are 22nd in the league when stopping the run allowing 122 rushing yards per game.  Bush and Thomas both above 4 yards per carry.  Battle is well above 4 yards per carry but Jones is barely above 3 yards per carry--he is showing his age.

Chiefs Special Teams:  Ryan Succop, Dustin Colquitt, PR/KR Javier Arenas, Dexter McCluster

Dolphins Special Teams:  Dan Carpenter, Brandon Fields, PR/KR Davone Bess, Clyde Gates

Carpenter has missed 3 FG's this season including one under 30 yards.  Succop has missed 3 FG's this season but those were early season misses.  These last 4 weeks he has been spot on.  The Dolphins are averaging 49 yards per punt whereas the Chiefs are averaging 47 yards per punt.  The Dolphins are averaging 11 yards per punt return and 23 yards per kick off return.  The Chiefs are averaging 14 yards per punt return and 24 yards per kick off return.  The Dolphins coverage team allows 9 yards per punt return average and 25 yards per kick off return average.  The Chiefs coverage team allows 10 yards per punt return average and 20 yards per kick off return.  This is an even match-up across the board.

Dolphins Coaches:  Tony Sparano, Brian Daboll, Mike Noland

The Chiefs coaching staff has been through a lot but since a poor start they have really come together.  The Dolphins coaching staff is under a lot of heat and for good reason--they are losing.  So until the Dolphins coaches can fight through adversity I'll give this one to the Chiefs.

Coaching:  Chiefs

The Chiefs are the winners of 4 straight and seem to be on a roll.  The Dolphins are hungry for a win.  The Chiefs are at home for the second straight week.  The Dolphins do catch the Chiefs during a short week though.  I'll give the advantage to a team on a winning streak playing at home.

X - Factor:  Chiefs

So far this year I'm 5-2 in picking the Chiefs games.  I only picked the first two games this season wrong.  So right with the Chiefs I'm rolling along.  We can't take the Dolphins lightly especially after a short week.  The Saints got destroyed but the Rams who were considered the worst team in the league.  It is football and any given Sunday any team can win.  However, I can't pick against the Chiefs this week.  Momentum is huge in this game.
