Remember the Texans

Man o man, does anybody around here remember the Texans? What you don't follow football or what. OK, just to educate you there are 2 teams that have wore that moniker, the current team that is in Houston and our beloved Chief's before they left that state south of here. So which one would any halfway sane person be discussing on a Chief's site? Still here? Follow me after the jump and you shall be informed!

Surprise Surprise Surprise, I am here at a Chief's site discussing the CURRENT team in Houston. Why? Just to let you see how the league has similarities. Some will remember that the team down south is currently leading their division, like us last year, with a great shot at a division title. So what you say, soooo think back a couple of years and how they stunk it up with a bad defense and a horrific o-line. Enter a hotshot coach, an offensive guru which the coach in redskin land may have not won without-just check his record without him, a new QB with alot of promise, and the few years it has taken them to get it together. Their line is fixed, the D is much better and the O is something to see because they found some key pieces.

Sure their QB is now gone for the season, like ours maybe? But the point I am trying to make is that we are much closer to fielding a really good team than most think. We get some talented playmakers back next season and if we draft a couple of guys who can play on the line and presto this team has a shot at the big prize. Yeah, I know that that is next year and know that what this year brings is not to exciting, even though we had high hopes to start the year.

So face it, we are like a Delbert McClinton song-Victim of life circumstances. We are not looking real good now, however, we have a shot to look much better as time goes by. A high spot in the draft for a couple of talented players, a free agent or two and presto we are back in the hunt. Remember we are still growing some players who, we hope get some snaps now that this season has turned into a disaster of injuries. So brace yourself you whining pack of coyotes, this team will survive and move forward, will you?

I know it's tough to do so, when we all were jacked up for this season after last year. I still believe this team is in better shape to becoming a sold contender with just a couple of additions. Every team has weaknesses, but having several such weaknesses makes it difficult to overcome teams which attack them as it sees advantages. This season will be hard to watch to the season finale, as we are not good right now, but I have the luxury of being around since this team moved here and have watched every game I was able to which had some really bad times. Why? Because I am a fanatic, a fan and a homer. Go Chief's!!!!
