Greetings Chiefs fans! This is my first post over here, so please don't haze me too badly! I joined Arrowhead Pride back in April when you drafted Ricky Stanzi and have been checking in this week to see if my favorite college quarterback has a snowballs chance in you-know-where of seeing the field this year. From the looks of it, you guys are pretty split as to whether Palko or Stanzi should take the reigns now that Cassel is down. I hope to see Ricky out there at some point, although in the coming weeks that will prove difficult to root too hard for him. See, I'm a Bears fan and my girlfriend is a Steelers fan. Both of those teams are on your schedule in the coming weeks. Which brings me to why I'm posting. The Bears have the AFC West in the next month and I'm wondering if you guys have some insight into how my Bears might do against the teams in your division.
We have the Chargers this week, and from what I've seen of them this year (which admittedly isn't much), they look like a mess. What should we expect to see from them? Are they a physical defense that will be able to chase Cutler around the pocket and keep Forte in check? Is Rivers really as bad this year as his interception numbers indicates?
What about the Raiders? I've seen less of them than San Diego. With DMC hurt, can they hurt us with the run? Is Palmer finally shaking off the rust? Their defense looked good until the Fighting Tebow's got to them.
What about those fighting Tebow's? Take away the run and they're screwed, right?
And finally you guys. Your offense looks kind of lost right now, without Charles and now Cassel. How are you guys against the run? Can we reasonably expect Cutler to stay upright? Our offensive line has played pretty well lately, but that is our biggest concern, that and receivers that aren't named Earl Bennett. I'm not going to lie, I'm glad our game with you is in Chicago, Arrowhead reminds me a lot of a college stadium, atmosphere-wise. Is that accurate? It looks like a blast to be at a Chiefs home game from what I've seen on tv.
Anyway, I'm gonna wrap this up now by thanking you guys in advance for any insight you might have. Good luck with that whole quarterback thing. Hopefully Stanzi gets to see the field and does well for you guys. As a Bears fan, I know all too well about crappy quarterbacks. If you don't believe me, look at this list of guys pulled from memory: Kordell Stewart, Rick Mirer, Steve Walsh, Henry Burris, Craig Krenzel, Jonathan Quinn, Chad Hutchinson, Cade McNown and Shane Matthews. These guys ALL started for us at one point!
