Because as it sits....
Matt Cassel is still the best option on our roster…. Until Todd Haley is told that Cassel will NOT be able to play the rest of the season, we wont see change…
This kinda feels like “You don’t know what you’ve got, til it’s gone….” situations…
Is JC Jesus Christ or Jamaal Charles? I think they both will be our savior.

ImO this is just something that haley and co dont really care about
they know where their players are, and will do everything to try and hide that. Til cassel sees IR, or whatnot, he will be QB1 on depth chart
just shows how silly looking at a chiefs’ depth chart can be
Team Pioli/Haley. Decade of the Chiefs.
Team Colquitt
I understand...
I just don’t see how people look at this as an “ego” thing… Where Pioli or Haley are afraid to admit their mistakes… I don’t see that at all.
While I do agree we should have gotten a better option at the QB position. I don’t feel there was really anybody around that was worthy of taking over for Cassel.

Gaither starting RT
Battle starting RB
but, we all know haley doesn’t care… so I dont’ care if the depth chart says is… as long as the right guys are on the field
Has Gaither played in the last couple of games? I missed them.

Yeah
Stole a few snaps from Albert
I think Thomas Jones would have better success in Bodybuilder competitions than he is havin right now in the NFL!

He does seem a lot more of a LT than a RT.
I don’t think he’d be a very good RT on a running team.

He couldn't be any worse than Barry Richardson though

Ha, well, depends on what you mean by "running" team.....

In run blocking, yeah I think he would be worse than Richardson.

Dunno, just thinking back to the beginning of this season where he was missing assignments with his current team.
Maybe he’s learned the scheme since then. But in preseason, he looked awkward on running plays and he looked like a natural at pass blocking.

they did
2009: 2200 yds, 4.7 avg
2008: 2376 yds, 4.0 avg
he didn’t play much in the preseason… but, I dont’ think his run blocking will be a problem
Good deal. Hope your (our) wish comes true.

He might be a great fit with Palko in there.

Gaither is not listed to play RT on the depth chart.
I wonder if Haley is getting him ready to play LT next year and move Albert to LG.

yeah, that came to mind last night for me. I realized if the team wants gaither, his best position is protecting our qb's blindside
I have to wonder if he replaces b-rich
Team Pioli/Haley. Decade of the Chiefs.
Team Colquitt
totally makes sense that he should
or, hell, if the protection is as bad at it has been… let Gaither report, and line up as an extra blocker all day
Would we flip all our running plays?
When you gotta go in the lion's den, you don't go quiet. You go in loud, kick the door down and say WHERE IS THE SONUVABITCH. -B. Billick
I think Gaither struggled in run plays,
and I’d worry about how his back would hold up.

exactly. who cares what the depth chart says, id rather look at how many plays they get when its all over
Team Pioli/Haley. Decade of the Chiefs.

I'd rather worry about which plays they get.
Is Houston in coverage 90% of the time? Is Bailey in on third and short?

yeah just sits on his hands
see, the coach who yells at his players, works them harder than just about any other coach, hes the guy who has them unprepared, its ALL on the coach for their ridiculous poor play, bad passes, dropped footballs and blown defensive assignments.
just sitting on his hands right?
Team Pioli/Haley. Decade of the Chiefs.

No but it is his fault
when the entire offense is continually confused, has no idea what play was called or what formation to line up in because there is no game plan.

FIRE Herm Haley and Carl Pioli. Two of the most damaging members of the CHIEFS organization in the last 20 years.
Yells at his players?
Actually, I think he’s gotten way too soft and friendly with his players. I think he was a better coach when everyone was either afraid of him or hated him. Now they suck balls and he just says how much he likes everyone.
by Tarkus on Nov 15, 2011 1:27 PM CST up reply actions 2 recs
When they have to wait forever to get the play
then hustle to the line and get it all called before wasting another timeout or getting flagged, YES. That hurried, panicked play-calling sets the team up for a LOT of failure. Think you can catch the ball when you’re not even sure you’re running the right route? Think it’s easy to figure out who to block when you have 3 seconds to look at the front? This incompetence of Haley’s doing is directly responsible for much of the poor play we’ve seen. Even that of #7 (damn, that hurt to type that).
Word on the street
Weigs is injured, some issue with his hand. Chiefs playing it low key. Consecutive starts streak in jeopardy. Might be time to take the chains of Hudson.

Kelly Gregg is one of the best parts about the defense this year. If you know anything about football and specifically defensive line play you would already know that.
Just watch him and if you don’t see that he’s doing a good job we know you’re incompetent.

arenas. its why we have the guy. flowers will go on branch. prevent the third down conversion
at least thats my guess.
I think the key to beating the patriots(and this was covered in the USA Today this week, is to run a lot of man coverage. lets hope our db’s heal up to 100 percent
Team Pioli/Haley. Decade of the Chiefs.

I'm just not too confident in Arenas covering a team's best receiver
i think Flowers would do a much better job covering Welker even though Arenas was brought here for the slot.

I think that Arenas is much better suited to cover Welker than Flowers…. Welker is very shifty and agile, which is what you would claim Arenas to be as well…

It won't matter if we don't get a pass rush
You heard it here first…Tom Brady will complete more than two passes this week.

But, I bet it’s 50-7 Pats at the end of the game.

I bet Brady throws for over 500...maybe sniffs 600
given our stellar pass rush and mad coverage skills.
Problem is...
our db’s aren’t very good at playing man to man.
Go Chiefs!!!!
Not for the 14 seconds that is required
for one of our front seven to trip and fall into the QB, thus creating “pressure”.
The same SD that was allowed to throw for 370 yards the last time we met at home?
and Oakland we primarily ran zone coverages. I’m not saying that we don’t have talented DB’s… I’m just saying that man to man coverage is where we are weak. Even if Brandon Flowers leads the league in deflected passes… his game is pretty weak when it comes to playing man to man.
Go Chiefs!!!!
Who cares about Welker?
Why would Brady ever throw him the ball when a guy named Sabby Piscatelli is covering one of two 6 foot 6 monster tight ends?
Yep that's right. Our starting QB wears a hairband.

They'll just push Sabby off all day, and he won't know what to do about it.

good point. a smart gameplan goes right at our weakness'. in theory, that is the best gameplan
Team Pioli/Haley. Decade of the Chiefs.

The Pats might have mercy on KC
Since we can’t stop the run they might just run the ball.
We can always hope
But I doubt they do. They have to be licking their chops just thinking about throwing against this monster pass rush and the challenges it presents…wait….
I have a feeling Ricky Stanzi is Pioli and Haley's "project."
I do honestly believe that they think he can be a good NFL QB. He’s just not ready to be thrown into the fire just yet.
I can now say this with a straight face, and it will be accurate: Tim Tebow is a better QB than Matt Cassel.

Seriously. Everyone knows that Battle is the guy in KC, yet he STILL has TJ listed as the #1. Good thing they’re feeding the #1 all 3 carries per game. Nice, Todd.

I’m surprised they don’t still list Okoye as the RB starter.

All this talk about covering receivers. No talk about the patriots one, two punch of Gronkowski and hernandez. Who have we got to cover them? Talk about a nightmare.Gronk 6’5" and a big body and hernandez with a big body and speed to go deep. Both with better than average hands. There is where you are going to have match up problems. The only thing keeping this game from becoming more embarrassing than our other losses is if Bellichick puts in the scrubs at halftime because he doesn’t want to put his friends in any more jeopardy for their jobs.
