Taking a break from the Matt Cassel injury news...
The Kansas City Chiefs now have an open spot on their practice squad.
Agent Ken Sarnoff announced on Twitter that the St. Louis Rams have signed LB Justin Cole off the Chiefs practice squad to their 53-man roster.
Players on practice squads are available to be signed by any team but once the player is signed they are obligated to three active roster game checks. (About $80,000 for Cole.)
Cole was picked up by the Chiefs as an undrafted free agent after the 2010 NFL draft and spent the first three months of the season on the active roster before being sent to the practice squad. He re-signed with the practice squad prior to the 2011 season.
So now the Chiefs have an extra spot on their practice squad.
