'Just Don't Make This Guy Look Like Dan Marino, That's All'

When the Miami Dolphins were beating the Kansas City Chiefs, Todd Haley had a request for his team early in the game.

"Just don't make this guy look like Dan Marino. Just don't make him look like Dan Marino, that's all."

The audio clip comes from Sound FX (via Arrowheadlines) and it's Haley talking as he approaches the defense. 17-of-23, 244 yards, three touchdowns.... I think the defense failed in that regard.

The Sound FX episode revealed a few good exchanges between Haley and his team, as well as Derrick Johnson, who was mic'd up. The final comment below is one of my favorites. Here are a few of them if you can't listen to the video:
DJ: "You're never as good as you think you are, and you're never as bad as you think you are."

Jovan Belcher: "Yeah, but this was bad."

DJ: "Yeah."

***

DJ after Reggie Bush's 28-yard touchdown run: "That's ridiculous, man."

***

Haley to the team: "That's a way to keep fighting. You all kept fighting. That hasn't changed. We'll rewind it and start the second half of the season."

***

Haley to Romeo Crennel: "We just gotta learn how to do it when our back's not against the wall because we're pretty good when our backs are against the wall."
