Am I the only one who notices that the Colts are losing every single game on purpose? I mean, of course they were not destined for greatness this season, but come on, they are blatantly throwing games. I'm not going to make this a long post - mostly just open up for discussion.
The only way that they can lose every game intentionally is:
1. The players cannot be "officially" told about it. It would hurt their individual stats, prospects, etc. But be sure of this, the stars of the team will not be penalized for their performance this season. Some of the high end players surely know about the management's plan and they just have to act like they're upset on the sideline when the camera is on them. I've seen Peyton when he is upset, and what we're seeing on his face this season is NOT what he looks like when he's really upset. He is a terrible actor - he only frowns and acts upset when the camera is on him. The rest of the time he's just chillin' on the sideline, chewing gum - he knows what's really going on.
2. The Colts have come out in public and announced that the coach Jim Caldwell's job is not in jeapordy. Ha! Any team that loses games like the Colts are losing are going to be stirring up MAJOR rumors that their coach's job is in jeopardy. The fact that the Colts came out early to squash any kind of talk about firing the head coach proves even further that they are throwing games on purpose. That is a fact.
3. Ok, so how are they doing it then? That's easy - PLAY CALLING - the Colts simply call multiple runs up the middle, into traffic, passing plays that will only garner a few short yards (Reggie Wayne has been targeted less than 10 times in the last 3 games). Sure, the running backs will occasionally break a run for a TD or a big gainer but this is not by design. The defense is also not blitzing, not sending Mathis and Freeney after the QB, they are calling soft defenses to help the opponent score points.
I can't believe that the NFL media hasn't called the Colts out on this yet.
Now before you say "Suck for Luck", they are not necessarily losing on purpose to get Luck. I think that Painter is a great QB and they just want the 1st pick for the bargaining power that it will bring them.
