Your AFC West standings are in and, did you hear, the Kansas City Chiefs are in first place. Indeed, it's a good morning in Kansas City as we awake to our first place Chiefs. It's a three-way tie between 4-3 teams for the first time since 1989 in the old AFC Central.
Here's how the standings shake out right now:
1. Kansas City Chiefs (4-3): Yep, this is so, so crazy to be typing. The Chiefs --- the Chiefs! -- are tied for the division lead right now. From 0-3 to 4-3, that's the story line in the NFL this week.
2. San Diego Chargers (4-3): KC splits against a San Diego team that all of a sudden is looking so...average. 15th in offense, 16th in defense and a record just over .500. Things don't get easier next week as they host the Green Bay Packers.
3. Oakland Raiders (4-3): They're the biggest question mark right now, if you ask me. We really don't know who this team is with Carson Palmer at the helm. I don't think last week's game against the Chiefs is who they are but I also don't know if they're a first place type of team. We shall see.
4. Denver Broncos (2-5): They're irrelevant.
