i've been priveleged to talk to many coaches and player in my limited time. i was able to talk to gilberry eariler tonight. gilberry was as cordial as ever. i asked him a limited amount of questions, and all yielded nothing but KOOL-AID.
i will paraphrase alot of these quotes:
how's your neck; it was listed as a shoulder:
gil :good. you saw what happened... ready for 2 sacks.. gotta keep pace.
so you can get your 6?
gil :it was 7. i'm getting 7.
you follow the big 12 living here?
gil:no... (watching ole miss/auburn) you figure they'd at least give them a chance. who won the missouri game?
missouri came came back in over time. best game was illinois and penn state.
gil :i'd take that game.
you played some mizzou football.
gil:i didn't play at mizzou.
you played with ellison.
gil :ellison? he's a good dude. great guy.
you know chiefs were picked to cover..
gil:what does that mean?
you're an underdog.
gil: i like that. i'll take that.
gilberry has always been straight forward. this year has been kinda slow with chiefs' personnel. what i liked about our chat was the fact that he knew his stats and wanted to get back to where he was, last year. his focus was hard to keep given we were watching the SEC. i believe wallace will go back to NYG after this season, which is a shame, but he's earned every bit of it. he's a true 43 de and a candid guy. i just hope we can maximize his talent here in KC
i get the feeling (along with copper, asamoah, moeaki, etc) that he wants to stay in KC.
