Chargers Injury Report: Malcolm Floyd, Shaun Phillips, Mike Tolbert Are Uncertain
The Kansas City Chiefs injury report doubled on Friday from one to two players but one of those players, RB Dexter McCluster, missed practice for non-injury related reasons. So, really, KC has one player on the injury report entering the Monday Night Football game against the San Diego Chargers.
Per usual, the Chiefs' opponent has a lot more injuries. Only two of them -- DE Luis Castillo and G Kris Dielman -- have been confirmed as out for this game. There are 11 players total on the injury report.
Here's a look at all of them:
Did not practice: DE Luis Castillo (tibia), G Kris Dielman (concussion), TE Antonio Gates (foot), LB Shaun Phillips (foot), RB Mike Tolbert (hamstring).
Limited practice: WR Malcolm Floyd (hip), RB Jacob Hester (foot), S Darrell Stuckey (groin).
Full practice: RB Ryan Mathews (thumb), OT Marcus McNeill (neck), C Scott Mruczkowski (neck).
Castillo and Dielman are confirmed to be out. It sure sounds like Gates will be playing on Monday while Phillips and Tolbert are not expected to play. Those are a couple of big-time injuries to keep an eye on. Tolbert catches a lot of balls out of the backfield things get a little easier on the Chiefs defense.
The big question here is Floyd and he returned to practice Friday on a limited basis with some San Diego reporters thinking he'll be ready to play. We'll know more today.
McNeill's status was up in the air earlier in the week but the San Diego media is now saying he'll probably play.

Curtis Brinkley and Jacob Hester may see added touches in Tolbert’s absence. Outside linebackers Antwan Barnes and rookie Darryl Gamble will see heavy snaps for a unit already without Larry English, placed on injury reserve earlier in the week. Tyronne Green will start in place of Dielman.
Phillips has started 61 consecutive regular-season games since 2007.

Ryan Matthews may get added carries for this game...
which hopefully lends to a couple forced fumbles. His thumb is injured so holding onto the ball could become a problem, and he will be less of a threat catching the ball.
This game is going to be pretty darn exciting!
Go Chiefs!!!!
Well they can't really say much about it after they lose....
because we can say we’re without Maeoki, Charles, and Berry. There’s no question who’s suffered the greatest losses.

Is it wrong that I care about my fantasy team just enough
To hope that Tolbert plays?
I mean, I hope the rest of the team does nothing at all, so I’m still a fan right? Right? Guys?
I love my wife, my kids, and the Chiefs. In that order. Except on game days.
thats a tough one. because if you want him to play, you want him to put up some pts.
still a fan? of course
but this is where FF and I parted ways. Ive played it since….I dont know, late 90’s….but ive had enough FF, it complicates things.
This monday is about one thing to me, beating the chargers. No Fantasy win, loss, tie, could match that, or make up for it.
Lets hope tolbert doesnt play
from what I hear in SD, No Tolbert, no Phillips…but flloyd will play much like kendrtick lewis
Team Pioli/Haley. Decade of the Chiefs.

All things being equal
I’d rather the Chiefs win and I lose than I win and the Chiefs lose

Rec'd
Though I went the otherway with this… I dropped the Chargers defense and added the Bungles defense(playing Seattle). Granted this is my crap team, but I’m wanting us to beat the hell out of the defense.
I guess if I was a ‘true fan’ I would have picked up the Chiefs defense, but oh well!
Go Chiefs!!!!
Fantasy should have absolutely nothing to do with your favorite team. I just traded Bowe for VJ to set up my match-up against Phyllis this week.
And I’m trying to make a move for Gates.
Cincinatti is dominating on defense in my league. Scoring overall is higher in our league and big plays mean big points. The Chiefs defense isn’t even available (they scored 59 last week), but we do start two defenses every week.
I was once fired from a job two days after I waited on Matt Cassel and his wife Lauren Killian. Totally my AP moment to remember. Unfortunately also one of my stupidest moments.

They scored 33 for my league last week.
I really hate to have Chiefs players on my Fantasy team if I don’t have to… After the 2-14 season I felt like I cursed them for having any of them on my team.
Go Chiefs!!!!
I've got Vincent Jackson so I know how you feel
Would much rather him have a bad game then win my Fantasy league
Me and Matt Cassel just - you up, dog!

I've got a bone to pick with Darrel Stuckey.
If anyone knows how to contact him, I need to give him a piece of my mind.
