That is the "Tom Brady Rule" that was put into place when, ironically, then Chief's safety Bernard Pollard ended Tom Brady's season in week one a few years ago. The league couldn't have its golden boy going down to a freak accident so it now penalizes any low hit regardless of intent. (and the flags fly if you even BREATH on Tom Brady wrong).
In another twist, that was the hit that allowed then virtually unknown Matt Cassell a chance to play, and eventually be signed in Kansas City.Hard to believe it has been 4 years.
