2012 NFL Mock Draft - Charlie Campbell
1) Kansas City Chiefs: Riley Reiff, OT, Iowa Kansas City wanted to draft offensive tackle Nate Solder last year, but missed out on him. If the Chiefs can land a left tackle like Reiff, that would allow them to move Brandon Albert to another area of need like guard. Such moves would be a big improvement for the Kansas City offensive line. Reiff has the combination of size and mobility that Chiefs' offensive coordinator and offensive-line guru Bill Muir loves. He has been a solid left tackle for Iowa. At 6-foot-6, 300 pounds, Reiff has the frame to add some more power. He is a technician who has been well coached at Iowa. Reiff looks like he has the ability to switch to right tackle, and possibly guard, if needed, but would have to put on some weight for either of those positions. His natural position is left tackle, and Reiff should turn into a quality left tackle in the NFL.
He had a very good game against Pittsburgh defensive end Brandon Lindsey. The rest of Reiff's schedule looks very manageable for him to finish the season strong. Adrian Clayborn raved to WalterFootball.com previously about Reiff, and how much he made Clayborn better due to battles in practice.
2) Kansas City Chiefs: Josh Chapman, DT, Alabama Some feel that Chapman is a first-round pick, but his lack of production and not offering much more than a big body up front makes it a hard sell. Still, nose tackles are in demand, and can be hard to come by. The Chiefs need a nose tackle and Chapman (6-1, 310) fits their scheme. Thus far in 2011, Chapman has recorded 13 tackles with 2.5 tackles for a loss and two passes batted down in five games.
3) Kansas City Chiefs: Delano Howell, SS, Stanford
The Chiefs need another safety to pair with Eric Berry in the long term.Howell made a lot of improvements last season. He recorded 70 tackles with five interceptions and five passes defensed. Howell (5-11, 198) has 25 tackles with four passes broken up so far this season. He is an intelligent coverage safety who plays the deep part of the field well.

not a bad effort, considering the source
I wouldn’t be too upset with an OT, NT, SS in the 2012 draft.
Matt Kalil for LT
USC Trojan, baby! And Alameda Ta’amu for our monster NT; another Pac-10 baller all the way. Chapman is like pretty small for a 2-gapper. I think he’d fit in better as a 1-gapper … like for Wade Phillips, or Rob Ryan. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know Chapman plays 3-4 NT at Bama. He might be stout enough to be a NT in the NFL. Could he put on about 10-15 pds. of more muscle and strength? Could he become a younger, a bit quicker firing off the snap, and just as strong as Kelly Gregg for us? Whaddya think, Staggs ole boy?

Far too much football left to be played for Mock Drafts

I'd rather see a TE taken within our first 3 picks

interesting idea
in this mock, the first TE comes off the board at pick 56, after KC’s 2nd rounder…
Dwayne Allen, TE, Clemson
then, Coby Fleener, TE, Stanford after KC’s 3rd pick…
So, you could go… Reiff, Markelle Martin, S, Oklahoma State , Fleener…
that’d be pretty good in this scenario
Hmm. Colby is another Pac-10 baller fave of mine to like the MAX!
But, Man … Colby is another big WR pretending to be a TE, lol. It’d be nice to get a damn good blocker that can snag a few rocks for an upgrade to Pope, and put an end to this old, worn out Becht Plow Horsey Merry-Go-Round. Although, we might want to hedge our bets with Pope’s injury history – and no, I’m not talking about his torn ACL. I’m talkin about all the other nagging injuries he had throughout college; it just seems guys like that are a bit prone to being snake-bitten a lot their whole career. I don’t know, maybe Fleener’s a good blocker too?
I’ll take Reiff as a RT in the 2nd rd. Do you really think he’s a shut-down LT from Day 1? So we could move Albert to RT. I don’t know about that??? And grab Kendall Wright in the 4th for our BURNER 4th WR, baby! No more of this “guys that haven’t played in 4 years,” and washed out ex-Cards and Pats refugees. Criminy sakes! Lets get some young, real, straight-up ballin players with high potential up in here! And Burfict for SILB! Ball-buster Haley can straighten his ass right out! But being a USC homie, I’d take chance on Chris Galippo later on though. :+)

In 2010 we had a revolving door at WR
It was addressed in the first round. This year we have a revolving door at TE, I’m sure it will be addressed early. I’m thinking the draft is gonna go OL, TE, DL or S
Kendrick Lewis isn't that bad too upgrade all ready
anyways this draft talk makes me feel weird so early in the season when we are about to dominate the Chargers!
Yup!
Do fans realize how much Dime Romeo plays? Romeo has switched to Cover 2 from Cover 3 – since the Lions game, I believe; I think he started implementing Cover 2 for the Chargers game?; or was it for the Colts game? Anywho, he’s been playing that GOD-AWFUL Sloppy Sabby as a FS deep, and McGraw in the box. I want ANOTHER FS bad!!! …especially if Romeo is sticking with Cover 2, and Dime packages, even with EB back, next season. D-Washout can hang on as a good ST’er, and the EMERGENCY S’ty.
EB, K-Lewis, whomever S’ty draft pick (I want my man TJ McDonald – USC Trojans, baby! – personally; but I could live with Merkelle Martin, or Delano Howell -another PAC-10 baller, baby; he just might fit the bill as FS/SS tweener I want so badly? Hmm?), D-Washout. And with CB’s Flowers, Carr, Arenas and Brown … that could provide a damn deep and soild secondary for years to come. You better do it Pioli, or I’m putting out a contract on yous!

A RB in the 3rd or 4th please.
Or give that pick to the Browns. HIV would love that trade.
:)
I was once fired from a job two days after I waited on Matt Cassel and his wife Lauren Killian. Totally my AP moment to remember. Unfortunately also one of my stupidest moments.
you're speaking of Mr Hillis, I presume?
why not just give the rock to McClain… he’s a similar player
really?
I thought Battle was more Hillis like.

These guys are idiots
SILB, OL depth, & safety depth. Not another starting safety or starting LT. RT though

so, you wouldn't want Howell in the 3rd, because he's starting-calibur?
I think that’d be ideal for Safety depth
I agree that SILB and RT are needs, though… taking Reiff could be a way to address RT, though
If he transitions I'm for it
I was saying no 1st on a tackle
