Chargers Left Tackle Now Expected To Play Vs. Chiefs

Stay connected for news and updates

Earlier this week we highlighted a report from a San Diego paper, the North County Times, that the Chargers left tackle, Marcus McNeill, was "expected" to miss Monday's game against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Another San Diego paper, the San Diego Union-Tribune, reports today that McNeill is likely to play on Monday, despite a neck injury. Kevin Acee of the Union-Tribune is one of the best in the business so we can now expect to see McNeill out there on Monday night, barring a setback.

It sounds like a few other questionable Chargers will be ready for the game with an extra day of rest this week. LB Shaun Phillips is expected to be fine, the Union-Tribune reports, as is G Kris Dielman. WR Vincent Jackson and TE Antonio Gates practiced on Wednesday, which is good news for the Chargers.

One question mark is WR Malcolm Floyd whose status is unknown.

With the game on Monday, the Chiefs and Chargers injury reports are pushed back a day. So we'll see our first first one today and the final one on Saturday.
