As we all know by now our beloved/hated/revered/out casted/skeptical man of a coach Todd Haley has said he will not shave his beard until we put a tick in the loser bracket. Now, on my way back from the doc’s office, I heard Adam Shine and Rich Gannon talking about Todd Haley and his beard. They had said to a caller complaining about Matt Cassel ( and I am paraphrasing here) That the chiefs overcame a lot of adversity with the losses of Moeaki, Charles and Berry for the season and until the last 2 games looked to be in it for the suck for Andrew luck campaign/contest. They had said Haley’s beard is becoming well known and that one of them * I think Adam shine) had a razor at a press conference and said to Haley " in a few days" while showing the razor. I found this funny. I think the game on Sunday was funny.

{Now disregard the meds they gave me for the back pain, and the 2 beers I had while watching the other games at noon} I was in disbelief. I couldn’t fathom what was happening to our team. Our team looked very VERY much like a perennial super bowl contending defense. It showed flashes of the Monster defense we touted in the 90’s. Grant it we had the raiders at the best time of the year; amidst a QB transition, but the fact remains the chiefs D won that game and the D looked incredible.

This game against the Raiders at Oakland proves exactly what is needed for our team. We need a true, no BS, non band-aide, has been back up from some other teams Quarterback. Matt Cassel is serviceable; he is a little more than a game manager but doesn’t have ALL the tools necessary to a Legendary / Hall of Fame Quarterback.

Until this happens; either in the Draft, or giving Ricki Stanzi a shot if he is the guy or via a trade or he magically appears when the Matt Cassel experiment is over. We will have to rely on our Stellar Defense. Make no mistake. I love the Kansas City Chiefs. I love running the football and controlling the tempo of the game. I love having a Monster Defense that scares any and all that plays against us. But we have seen this before. We have seen the Kansas City Chiefs defense destroy other teams. And our number 1 reason why we have yet to win a post season game the last 7 times is because we don’t have the definitive answer at QB.

I hope Todd looks more like a deadbeat junkie/homeless/college degenerate/ high school burn out with his old dirt hat and scruffy looking beard. I will now on from this point forward not call Coach Todd Haley by his Christian name; instead I will only refer to him as "the bearded one". I have examples below of the type of beards I hope he grows out. Thanks for listeneing to my rambling and sorry about the format – still having issues with the editor when creating a post!
