Javier Arenas just might be the most athletic dude on the Chiefs squad. He can certainly get it done on both sides of the ball. Late Sunday afternoon we all saw Javier run the direct-snapped ball in for a touchdown standing up. I think it would be accurate to think that all three other options we have to run the ball in that scenario would have fallen over; and there's also a chance they wouldn't have scored a touchdown to begin with.
Right from the start in this video we see Javier's potential at running the ball. Move now to the 33 second mark and watch top-notch patience as a runner, waiting for his guys to get into postition.
And don't try and tell me that this guy couldn't take the contact. This guy loves contact, and I believe he could take on guys Jamaal and Dexter couldn't. At the 2:14 mark watch him take that first hit and bounce it outside with good speed; then he breaks a leg tackle and after losing all of his momentum he still goes directly at two huge LSU players. This guy loves football and I think he will be one of our best football players soon.
Oh yeah! I haven't even mentioned how good of a receiver he could be out of the backfield....
