Vikings Vs. Chiefs: It's Gameday
Wake up, folks. It's gameday.
We've got the Kansas City Chiefs and Minnesota Vikings at Arrowhead Stadium today. I'm getting ready to head out to the stadium and I can already smell the barbecue in the parking lot (Or is that all the barbecue I ate at the American Royal on Friday night, and then even more barbecue at our neighborhood block party on Saturday night).
The Chiefs and Vikings are both winless so at least one team is walking out of here with a victory. The last time the Vikings came to KC, Jared Allen was in red and the Chiefs walked away with a victory. They were still looking for their first win of the season entering that game, sorta like today. Hmm.....
Speaking of Jared Allen, he's been the big topic of the week. He's asked that fans not boo him when he comes onto the field, and I think most of us will comply. We looked at all the connections between the Chiefs and Vikings, and Allen was the biggest one, besides that whole Super Bowl IV game. Here are a few quotes from Leslie Frazier and Todd Haley on what Allen's done this season. Like he did for Tamba Hali, Allen is making everyone around him better, according to our Vikings blog, Daily Norseman. And a question to Vikings fans: Would you do the Jared Allen trade again? The answer is a resounding yes.
Are you ready for gameday? 0-3 or not, I still love these days.

I remember
two years ago being at the Steelers game and feeling like the minority in my own house. End results was perhaps the quietest ive ever heard Arrowhead stadium after a thrilling overtime win. What you got on the grill today?
I still find it hard to sleep late because i'm excited for the games even though we stink
I think MC puts up decent numbers today though which should help with a win
unless
we’re trying to eat up the clock. Then his 2 yard runs will be of value.
Go luck yourself.

I feel a win today!
Yeah, we need a new QB but the pitiful S4L plan starts coming undone today! GO CHIEFS!!!!
Luck Bowl I
Will we come out the “winner”? Factors:
- tackling. Something we don’t do well. Adrian Peterson. Hard to tackle
- offensive ineptitude. Something we do well. Minnesota gets out to fast starts which we will likely not be able to overcome
- covering the TE. Starting Shiancoe in fantasy, as I expect him to run wild on mcgraw/pisscatelli.
Unfortunately and fortunately simultaneous, I think we lose the game, 24-13 but win the battle 0-4
I'm so overrated, I'm underrated.

Amen...
Delaney does have some good points on things we need to do today, but the prediction for score is wrong. Chiefs come away for the win and we start a win streak.
When I make it to my first game (Chiefs/Chargers MNF) in over a decade (thanks to the military) we will be 3-3 and about to win again.
next year
Pick up another WR for depth
Pick up Thomas Jones’ replacement
Draft an inside linebacker in 1st round
Draft a big athletic cornerback in the 2nd round who can let Flowers play nickel if the opposing WR is too tall
Draft a FS in the 3rd round who can compete with Kendrick Lewis
Draft a SS in the 4th round
Draft the best kicker available

Our defensive backfield
is one of our stronger areas. I wouldnt spend 3/4 picks in the secondary. Agree we could use an upgrade over Belcher but V Burifict is the only ILB worthy of a 1st round choice right now. I’d use first rd on a QB, LT, or Burifict. Wouldnt mind finding a S that can play either spot to back up both Berry and Lewis. and if we dont get a LT in first round, we will need to pickup another interior lineman. (if we get a LT in rd one BA would slide back to LG where i think he would dominate.)
our offensive line isnt the problem tho
You get depth at corner and safety and force people to run on you, but then you’ve got dorsey, hopefully an improved tyson, a motivated powe, houston, dj, and your 1st rd pick lb and they can’t run on you. Id feel more comfortable with corner depth and safety depth and an athletic linebacker, than I would with drafting Luck and some olineman.

Notice how everyone was saying that the Eagles front office was doing the right thing
and signing every FA available? They have 1 more win than us and have looked in shambles at times.
nnamdi was the only bad move
To compare the eagles to the chiefs in any shape or form is foolish imo. They are still a more complete team. If you take their best defensive player and you take away vick, you still have a top 15 team with Young. You take away Berry and Charles and you’ve got us.

You think with VY in there they're a top 15 team?
You obviously don’t know too much about the Eagles. They’d be winless just like us
VY starting for Eagles???
MV is their best option at QB. VY is a backup and will most likely never be more than that.
Today will a good day because...
The Chiefs will get their first win today,
I’ve got some nice fat ribs slow cooking,
I got my tickets for the Chiefs-Chargers MNF game (Sec. 111).
at that point we will be 4-3 after the Halloween game win!
