I was just pondering the teams roster and thought about the 3 players I really do not like as starters. Only 1 on offense, and no surprise here as BRich is in my doghouse.... since all of last year in fact. He has been our starter for twenty games or so, at right tackle, and I am unimpressed. We need to be better than what our current tackle has provided and the onliest way I know is a different player.
Enter a former Raven, who has surprised me by not already breaking into the starting lineup. Now would be the perfect time to have him start. Who knows why this hasn't happened already, besides the staff, and maybe the late start in preseason? or the leg ailment? or just a problem child like was reported from Baltimore?. Let's hope that whatever was ailing him is a thing of the past and get this former talent proven player on the field.
I know he can pass block better than the incumbent, and I am sure as can be that he is the equal or better as a run blocker. Let's fantasize a second and envision the future; Cassel goes back to pass, HAS TIME, and hits an open receiver for a big play. Groovy . Far out man, that would mean we could start dictating with the offense instead of always looking for those short underneath passes. Maybe then we could play with a lead and then the defense could focus on closing down 1 aspect of an offense and simplify the game for itself.
Enough already, and I won't even discuss the 2 guys on D. Fixing the pass pro is something that the team hasn't been able to do yet, is definitely needed and I hope happens. Go Chief's
