Yeah, this would not be good. H/T to Danny Parkins on Twitter.

I hope Mike Brown sticks to his guns.
Stay retired Carson, or go play handball with Jake Plumber.

It isn't a matter of what they would trade,
it is a matter of what CIN would accept. And, it isn’t as though the Raiders are devoid of talent or picks, unfortunately.
-Erykah Badu, I have accepted your proposal. So, Mrs. DTR, let's get to consummating...you are on notice.

Meh
Even if they did get him for next week, he wouldn’t have time to get the offense down or develop any rapport with the Raiders. Not worried.
I hope they trade for him.
Since they only have a 1st, 6th, and 7th this year, that means they’d either have to give up their 1st for him, or trade 2013 picks, and they’d have to give up a lot of 2013 picks to get him since they aren’t worth as much as 2012 picks.
In other words, they’d have to mortgage their entire future to get him, and that’s fine by me.

It's a mortgage that could be paid off quickly.
Sometimes giving up a future unknown draft pick for an NFL starting caliber quarterback is well worth it.
I was once fired from a job two days after I waited on Matt Cassel and his wife Lauren Killian. Totally my AP moment to remember. Unfortunately also one of my stupidest moments.

It could be worth it.
But it’s not like Palmer is a future Hall of Famer. And young players are cheaper players, so by giving up these draft picks they are forced to rely on older, more expensive talent, which means they won’t be able to keep as many good players. Unless they get him for pretty cheap, I think a trade would hurt them more than help.

Of course he isn't HOF material.
But, there is no denying that it could pay off for them. Everyone being so sure about him and comfortable if he did get traded is insane if you ask me. Raiders are already a 4-2 team with JC; add Carson Palmer to the mix and they are instantly better. Maybe not this season, but the next, and beyond.

and no I'm not hinting at anything
I am perfectly happy with our QB situation, for now.

Even if they did
I wouldn’t be worried, I’d be happier, even. Palmer hasn’t seen a field in quite some time, has rust written all over him, hasn’t been with Oakland to know the offense, especially with Hue in there. If anything this would be benefiting us, and the other two AFC West teams.
Winner of the 2010 Arrowhead Pride, "Beat The Insiders"
i fear a rusty Carson Palmer,
more than I fear a Boller or Pryor.
He can read a defense and adjust. Boller has proven he can’t and Pryor is an unknown.
Regardless, nothing has happened yet, but I personally don’t want a competent QB like Palmer with the Raiders…next week’s game is only one game. He could be a problem for us for a long time.

Carson Palmer in Oakland could be trouble. He has already shown an ability to control maniacs in CIN
with that running game and the talent they have at WR, Palmer could thrive. However what they would have to give up to get him might be worth the two or three years of trouble he gives us.
BOOM!
If Palmer is not wanting
To play in CIN. Why would he want to play for a team like a Raiders? Even if they did work something out I could see Palmer just saying no himself.

Why would he want to go there? Because they're 4-2 and looking pretty damn good.
They also have an outstanding HC and arguably the best RB in the league. They have some real explosive young other talent on offense too.
Why would anyone want to go to a place that is now in search of a GM after years of suffering under AD?

Ain't afraid of Palmer
he lost his velocity after his surgery. Well known among Cincy fans that he just isn’t the same QB. Don’t care where he goes, he’s washed up
