We Have A Chris Chambers Sighting
Here's a name I almost forgot about: Chris Chambers.
The former Kansas City Chiefs receiver is working out with the San Francisco 49ers today, according to Matt Barrows of the Sacramento Bee.
Chambers seemed to disappear once the lockout was lifted and the Chiefs released him. Maybe he's been getting other workouts but I haven't heard of any.
The Chiefs gave Chambers a three-year deal reportedly worth $15 million in March of 2010 after he had an impressive half season with the Chiefs gaining over 600 yards and four touchdowns in nine games.
Unfortunately, that was about all he did. He had all of 213 yards receiving in the 2010 season, ultimately getting deactivated late in the season, including the playoff game against the Baltimore Ravens where Kevin Curtis, signed that week, played instead.
You think Chambers gets a contract offer from San Fran? They're looking for guys after Josh Morgan reportedly fractured his ankle.

If SF is smart, they bring him in for this year
He’ll play really well hoping for an extension. Then just let him walk after the season.
Only way to get any production out of the guy. Or get him to, you know, run a route.

Amen to that
It’d be a good short term move by them…
I love my wife, my kids, and the Chiefs. In that order. Except on game days.
Yeah, agree
unless Chambers Girl friend spazes out again. He could miss games because he is in jail on domestic violence charges. Kinda funny, the team he’s trying out for is just up the road from SD.
"You gonna pull them pistols...or whistle Dixie?"
Just up the road?
That is like saying that Denver or Chicago are just up the road from Kansas City. It’s a long drive, like 10 hours. Just up the road. Know your geography.
At least I can still hate the stinking Raiders!

as much as Id like to think he will be the one year wonder hes known to be
He was so incredibly bad for us last year, he was one of the lowest rated recievers in the entire nfl in terms of how effective he was.
Id like to think SF can find another option. Sorry chris chambers
Team Pioli/Haley. Decade of the Chiefs.
Team Colquitt
Desperation is a bitch...
Can we get off this "Suck4Luck" bullshit? Actually WANTING us to lose? Seriously...WTF???
They can pay me to half ass routes and drop passes
Men succeed when they realize that their failures are the preparation for their victories.
Seriously man.
It still boggles the mind a bit. I mean if Chambers was known to be invisible by the last half of the year, why not trot Jeremy Horne out there and just send him on a go route every play? Make them account for him with a CB and a safety over the top, otherwise lob it deep.
Would’ve done more for us than Chambers did.

They would be better bringing TO back then to give that man a Wide Receiver's paycheck
Come at me bro, and I will throw a 2 yard screen pass to my running back, come at me bro.
This guy...

Chris Chambers. He was most famous as the Prime Minister of England from 1937 to 1940.
"[Jamaal Charles] probably fights crime in his spare time while inhaling carbon emissions, exhaling oxygen, and crapping oil. That’s how awesome he is. Not just good for the Chiefs, but America."

to this day
do we have any idea why he was deactivated or why Haley was so stubborn that he brought in Kevin Curtis to start in a playoff game? I know it was met with some head scratching around here but that should have pissed a few more people off. There is no way Kevin Curtis gives you more than Urban or Horne or any of those other backups we had last year.
Urban was on the IR
But yeah, should’ve seen Horne or Tucker or someone out there, you’d think.

I would take Kevin Curtis over Chris Chambers every day of the week.
Twice on Sundays.
I can’t stand Chambers. He divorced his wife to marry his stalker. Weird. And he’s a piece of shit. He got paid and took a freaking vacation.
Curtis is Fast. And he played really well in Philadelphia.

Didn't Terrell Owens play for San Fran at one point?
Come at me bro, and I will throw a 2 yard screen pass to my running back, come at me bro.
yep. but the one thing you cant take from T.O is that hes been productive everywhere he went

And hard working.
Can’t question TO there. His only problem is his mouth.

Wow!
I figured someone would see a bigfoot first. Not not the AP variety.
You Play to Win the game!!!
lol
49ers are too good for Chris Chambers. He’s a Bears kinda guy. Small. underachieving WR. Really, after thinking about it, I’m surprised they didn’t sign him.
