Quick offseason preview
We need some upgrades on this team....Quick look at two positions we have a big need for with who might be available.. Clark made some big loot this season and I believe resigning Hali is the biggest move left to make for the team.
NT
Haloti Ngata (BAL)
Aubrayo Franklin (SF)
Both of these guys would be massive upgrades over Edwards who is also a UFA. Edwards could be brought back for depth but we need a new starter here and the draft is NT prospect light.
WR
Steve Breaston (ARZ)
Plaxico Burress (NY Prison system)
Sidney Rice (MIN)
Steve Smith (NYG)
Chad 85
Breaston is a guy Haley is familiar with and the Cards are not expected to resign him. I would think he would be a favorite odds wise of the Chiefs bringing in. Burress is a wild card as he hasnt played in a couple seasons and is advanced in age. Sidney Rice is expected to receive some type of tag from the Vikes assuming tags still exist in the new CBA but would add an interesting dimension to this offense. Chad has a contract for next year, but I dont expect the Bengals to pay him the $6-8 mill he is owed for next year. Don't think he heard many good things from free agent to be TO about Haley and not sure Haley would want to deal with him after just getting the diva out of DBowe but just throwing a name out there. I dont think Breaston is enough of an upgrade so maybe this is a position to target in the draft. Lots of good WR prospects in the draft this year,

WR Upgrade
Dryer lint is am upgrade for our wr’s right now The irony is this is supposed to be Haleys area of expertise but excluding Bowe our wr’s totaled all of 67 catches/693 yds 3 tds. This was also the 13th time in 33 games in the Haley era we have been held to 1 or fewer td’s.
Just because its “his area of expertise” doesn’t mean he can turn players who lack skill or motivation into all pros which a just by saying so
plus, he is a head coach now. not a WR coach or OC.
he kinda has a whole team to deal with. he can’t just focus on WR’s.

I think the Ravens defense had quite a bit to do with Bowe not catching anything today
he can’t catch a football if it isn’t thrown to him, and Cassel can’t throw the ball to anyone when he’s lying running for his life, much less lying on his back admiring bunny-rabbit shapes in the clouds … the Ravens have a brutal Front 7 and we had no protection for the QB today on top of no running room for Charles beyond the one TD run
we’re the new kid on the block, and today we got beat up by one of the neighborhood bullies … we’ll go home, bloidied and bruised, pride intact … Scott Daddy will find more players over the off season and next year maybe we’ll be big enough and tough enough to punch back

Wide outs in the draft this year to look for
Young and Pettis out of Boise State
Salas from Hawaii
I think these will be the only ones available to us in late rounds that would have instant impact on offense. Either way Case Keenum or the kid from TCU + a good QB coach are a must to create some much needed competition for Cassel. Maybe then Haley will quit being so “star” struck with Cassel
