Chiefs Remain under the Radar

Think the white 'n' red color scheme is mere coincidence?

I think not.

I started this FanPost back in September, I think. Even after winning the division, we're STILL under the radar!

I think there are good reasons for this, many being listed in recent articles. Most onlookers like to cite the soft schedule. I'm not going into that, other than to say that there are divisions in which 10 wins and a little luck gets you a wildcard berth, at best.

I think KC can give any team a good fight. And they THRIVE on the underdog role. They remind me a LOT of that 2001 Patriots team. The likeness isn't perfect, but there are some very talented, but underrated players all across the roster, and if they play their best game, they can beat anybody.

Line play: Middle of the league.

Receivers: Middle of the league.

QB: Middle of the league.

RB: Elite

And so on. A lot of "middle of the league" talent, with a few bright spots.

But KC is healthier than most teams. I like their youth, and I don't place a lot of weight on the "They lack playoff experience." Nothing changes in the playoffs, except for the overtime rules. A well-coached team executes, regardless. There's still 100 yards between endzones. Same equipment. Same idea.

I'm pretty optimistic about the Chiefs this Sunday and beyond, although I can't argue against their underdog status to the world at large. There were too many times they struggled. They're NOT physically dominant at the point of attack.

But I think there's enough smart and there's enough talent for KC to present matchup difficulties to any team. I think they can frustrate 'most any team. I think they can overcome adversity.
