The Kansas City Chiefs draft interest table just keeps growing and growing during Senior Bowl week. Via Doug Farrar of Yahoo! Sports, we have a report that the Chiefs were talking with Tennessee Volunteer (Mrs. Arrowhead Pride's alma mater) TE Luke Stocker.
Stocker is a 6'6", 253-pound senior, three-year starter and - get this - a team captain. You know how much Scott Pioli loves team captains. NFL Draft Scout has rated Stocker as their third best tight end. He is projected to go in about the third round of the 2011 NFL draft.
In his three starting seasons for the Vols, Stocker caught 13, 29 and 39 passes respectively. He grabbed seven touchdowns in that time as well. NFL Draft Countdown says Stocker is "the type who does everything well but nothing great, with the ability to contribute as a pass catcher and blocker but not necessarily standing out in either area."
Scott Pioli has been known to draft tight ends as well. He drafted Jake O'Connell in the 7th round in 2009 and he took Tony Moeaki in the third round in 2010. The Chiefs also signed TE Leonard Pope last season and TE Sean Ryan before that. Definitely seems like the Chiefs are interested in keeping at least two good tight ends around at all times.
The first edition of the Kansas City Chiefs draft interests table is after the jump.
