Brodie Croyle Lands On Chiefs Inactive List As 3rd QB
The Kansas City Chiefs have released their inactives for Sunday's game against the Oakland Raiders. We didn't expect any surprises from the Chiefs inactive list but we've got a slight one -- QB Brodie Croyle is on the inactive list as the third quarterback.
I'm not sure exactly why they did this or what it means. If they were involved in a blowout, I imagine they would want to send some backups in, particularly Croyle. This move doesn't make a ton of sense to me.
Here are the rest of the inactives: WR Quinten Lawrence, S Donald Washington, FB Mike Cox, S Reshard Langford, LB Charlie Anderson, C Rudy Niswanger and NT Anthony Toribio.
Lawrence is inactive again despite being promoted from the practice squad last week which makes you think the Chiefs were possibly worried about him being plucked from another team.
So, barring injury, we won't see Croyle in mop-up duty today. There's your inactive surprise.
For the Raiders, the big name to remember is RB Darren McFadden, who is inactive today.

Maybe
The only thing I can think of is maybe Todd and Scott realize that Brodie can’t win in the NFL, and they want to see if Palko is a capable backup.

Agree
Chiefs are done with Croyle & want to see what they have in Palko, so they know whether to boot him in the off-season also.
God I hope so!!
My bold prediction for 2010....The Chiefs win the AFC west with a 9-7 record, while the Chargers fall off, Denver remains the same, and Oakland, well enough said.

Marty McFly?
They’ve been having a Back to the Future marathon on AMC lately
Damn, I haven't noticed.
Been too busy watching Twilight Zone and the bowl games.
This reminds me.. I have a friend who has never seen Back to the Future. Or Ghost Busters. Weird, I know.

you could be right ...
hope Cassel doesn’t get injured … could be ugly if he does, although Palko is very good at handing off

Well, on a side note
This is the first game I won’t have to see someone write “Put in Brodie!” in the open game threads. :)
Who can? The guy is an unstoppable force
good news for today
To coach?
Well you know what they say, those who can’t do… coach.
I think the NCAA saw how he plays in the NFL
and realized he’s just not ready yet, so they’ve extended his eligibility for 4 more years.

Think So
Weis realized it would take a lot longer to “fix” this Quarterback and he is taking the project on the road.

Brodie looks pretty small in this pic.

I can't think of any scenario where this means good things for Brodie
I think it really means that Palko has passed him in the ability to run the offense in practice.

So basically the Jets are not playing any of their players today
are they really trying to lose to ensure that they stay the #6 seed cuz they would rather come to Arrowhead to play instead of going to Indy
They are notorious for that
That 11-5 Season Cassel had with the Patriots, all they needed was the Jets to beat Miami, and the Pats and Jets were in. They always mail in the final game of the season.
Good, I hope it completely destroys whatever momentum they had left, they deserve it.
They want to back into the playoffs
losing four of their last five? Not a good move. Bring the Jets to Arrowhead, and we’ll make it five of six!
If the Chiefs win today,
Then the Chiefs won 6 of last 7…with Cassel winning 6 straight starts…Jets better be thinking wht they doing
