Former Chief Tony Richardson Has Another Shot At A Super Bowl Ring

For the second consecutive year former Kansas City Chiefs FB Tony Richardson is playing on championship weekend in the NFL playoffs with a chance to head to the Super Bowl.

It's funny. I went back in our archives to see what we were talking about at this time last year I came across this post. The date was Jan. 17, 2010 -- exactly one year ago today.

I want former Kansas City Chiefs FB Tony Richardson to get a Super Bowl ring.

Richardson entered the league in 1994 as an undrafted free agent with theDallas Cowboys. He spent time on the practice squad and was eventually released. He signed with the Chiefs in 1995 and stayed with the team for 11 years.

He's one of the good guys in the league and one of my favorite former Chiefs.

I think most of you would agree with me when I say that T-Rich deserves a Super Bowl ring.

The Jets were preparing for the AFC Championship game against the Colts last year when that was written. I don't think I like the Jets as much anymore because we knew they would be good coming into this year and they're not the underdogs taking us by surprise.

But I still want T-Rich to get a ring, especially now that Tony Gonzalez is out of the playoffs.

It goes without saying, but...

I can’t wait for the day when we’re talking about guys not having a chance at a Super Bowl ring because they do NOT still play for the Chiefs.

T-Rich v.s. Tony G

As far as who gets a ring first,(or @ all) I want the guy who didn’t complain about his parking space, a team in transition. (rebuilding) and his own #’s etc.etc. etc. Go Tony RIchardson I hope you get your ring!!!

It seems impossible to believe that

T-Rich is still getting it done. I don’t like the Jets, but I am kinda, sorta rooting for T-rich to get that ring.

I hope the Jets beat the Steelers, cause I hate the Steelers.

Beyond that I really dont care who wins and loses.

I don’t think I like the Jets as much anymore because we knew they would be good coming into this year and they’re not the underdogs taking us by surprise Rex Ryan is still the world’s biggest d-bag and that team embodies all that is wrong and evil in the world.

Go Jets

Mainly because the Steelers are nothing but a team full of dirty players (clark, ward, adams, pouncey, miller, kemoeatu, harrison, hampton, taylor, mcfadden amongst im sure several others) who cheap shot people every chance they get but more importantly because their QB is a serial rapist and just a huge douche. Seriously you know you are a spectacular douchebag when even Terry Bradshaw thinks you’re a giant asshole.

I really hate both teams

I’m just really hoping that no matter what happens, Aaron Rodgers gets his ring.

Jets are not going to win the Super Bowl.

Steelers are to good at home. New England was over rated.

I just want to say

Nobody deserves a super bowl ring unless their team wins the Super Bowl. It is not an individual accomplishment, it is a team accomplishment. Why does this seem so obvious yet is so overlooked by virtually everyone? If the Jets win, then T-Rich deserves a ring.

Thank you.

YAAAAAY! Now you go, lady!

I believe he is the ultimate team player.

And that’s why I believe he deserves a ring. But he can’t get it on his own. So I hope the Jets prove up to the task of winning the big one.

I don’t believe its overlooked. I don’t believe there is anything wrong with hoping that a player like Tony Richardson earns a ring. At the very least , I hope that he gets the opportunity to play for one.

You're right, there's nothing wrong with hoping he earns a ring.

That’s totally different than saying someone who hasn’t won a Super Bowl deserves a ring.

I remember a news blurb on KCTV5 of when TRich first left for Minny

And Peterson said that when he was done w football, he’d have aspot waiting for him in the front office. At the time, I expect him back in like 2yrs, and he outlasted Peterson’s reign. TRich is a class-act and has earned his right to play in the Super Bowl.
