Billy Ray Cyrus, Train To Perform For Chiefs, Chargers Monday Night Football

That's the word from Josh Looney of KCChiefs.com.

MNF Entertainment announced - Billy Ray Cyrus to sing National Anthem; Train to perform at halftime BUT REMEMBER 8:35 PM for The Experience

How many of you have kids who are going to say, "You mean Hannah Montana's dad?"

The Chiefs announced the performances at their back to football bash at Arrowhead Stadium this evening.

This doesn't have anything to do with why the Chiefs are telling folks to be in their seats at 8:35 p.m.. That's apparently a separate surprise.

their last CD is pretty underrated

I personally love everything from 87-2010. I just saw them in concert last week actually and they still put on the best show ive ever seen.

And you’d really rather have Billy Ray Cyrus up there? At least Greenday would get the crowd going.

by SoCalChief17 on Sep 9, 2010 11:06 PM CDT up reply actions

Yes I'd rather have a country singer sing the national anthem.

If someone had a gun to my head and made me sit through a billy ray concert or a greenday concert I’d choose green day but thats like choosing between puking and diarrhea.

I thought the NFL was banning the use of that song since Gliiter served time in an Asian prison for raping kids.

Personally I would have chosen...

Bad Brains, RATHM, Beastie Boys, the Roots and A Tribe Called Quest…but…. my taste in music doesn’t SUCK.

Can you just see all the little kids after the game

looking at their parents with their big, happy eyes and trying out their new catch-phrase, “F- you I won’t do what you tell me!”

My four-word 2011 mock draft - Mark. Freaking. Herzlich. BAM!

Who, or what in the Hell, is Train?

I’m not a big Billy Ray fan, but if Train is one of those Hip Hop things, then I would much rather listen to him. I’m sorry, but I can’t get into somebody talking, with some shitty music playing in the background. I know, I’m an antique, and my folks weren’t crazy about my music, in the seventies, either, but at least they kindof actually sang the songs, whether you could understand them or not. Thank God for You Tube!

There once was a man from Nantucket......Nevermind.

I bet you wouldn't mind train.

They are played on ALT rock stations.

Pleassse Billy Ray

don’t have a mullet when you come out and sing. I don’t want to be the only guy trying to hold back laughing during the national anthem

with the way the Chiefs have been these years

i don’t think they can be THAT picky.

Other Arenas wish they could be like Arrowhead Stadium and when rivals think they are going to be fine on an island of Flowers, they will get hit by what feels like a Carr. Ultimately, they will never be able to eat a Berry ever again.

OK my first (and maybe only) Fire That Guy (Gal) Rant!

Whoever selects the urmmm, entertainment for the Chiefs, please, did they go the who can we get for free route?

Is Shinedown out of the question?

Come on man!!

I'd rather be a failure at something I love than a success at something I hate.

Obviously..

Billy Ray Cyrus and/or Train is NOT the surprise. Mitch Holthus was on the radio the other day saying “You do not want to miss this” and “This will be something you tell your kids about”. I’m hopeful the ‘surprise’ will be something very special. We already know that it has nothing to do with a band/artist.

this is sad

New Orleans did it right, they had music that was both “big name” (Dave Matthews) and distinctly “New Orleans” Harry Connick, and the local jazz players, etc.

I would have rather seen “no-name” local KC jazz/blues or country artists, rather than one-hit-wonders that have no obvious ties to KC.

this should be the most exciting Chiefs team in years! Most major needs filled with playmakers, and the league's best coaching staff... 10-6 a possibility?

I like it. I love it.
