Surprise on MNF at Arrowhead??
Surely somebody else heard this on Thursday night over the loudspeakers at Arrowhead...
Late in the game against the Green Bay Packers on Thursday night it came across the loudspeakers that there would be a "surprise for Chiefs fans on Monday Night Football." In order to see this surprise, Chiefs fans were asked to be in their seats 15 minutes before the game begins.
I have searched high and low through the internet to find out what the surprise is going to be. I even called my local ticket guy from arrowhead to ask about this. Nobody seems to know what the surprise is.
DID SOMEONE ELSE HEAR THIS??? Or am I having an "ease his pain" moment???
Anyone, anyone...??

it was thirty minutes before game time
and I heard it too
The only measure of true success in the NFL is the Vince Lombardi trophy. Anything less is a rationalization.
Clark was talking about it during the game on TV
he said he knows we have some of the best tailgaters in the NFL but to please be in your seats 30-45 minutes before the game b/c they will have some awesome pregame stuff
Chiefs Will
Be in your seat at 8:35 per Kcchiefs.com
Nigh time fly over plus a surprise band/artict to sing
The Chiefs will finish .500 or better in 2010.
I'm not Tony but....
Josh Looney stated it several times on his weekly show on Chiefs site. He and the other guy on his show talked about it extensively saying fans really really need to be in their seats by 8:35. They couldn’t say enough about it. Lot’s of grand opening stuff, fly overs, they went on to say it will get you jacked. I don’t think we want to miss this.
Awesome
Except that means I’ll need to head into the stadium as soon as the gates open.
Getting to the upper section on crutches is gonna be fun. Gonna have to limit my beer intake so I don’t have to take 30 minute bathroom trips!

I remember that you could, problably still can,
call Arrowhead for wheelchair services. They might even have an ambassador to wheel you up and down to your section. I would call and see if it is still available.
appreciate the input
but it’s not that big a deal.
I may look into it when I get there but I think I’ll just take the elevator up to the third level.
I’m in row 20 of my section and the entrance is around row 10-12. Shouldn’t be to hard to hop up a few sets of stairs using the handrail

what time does the first MNF game end?
I would like to see this stuff but if the other game runs late is it going to interfer with us tv watchers?
The picture is a Chiefs pumpkin, yeah that is right a Chiefs pumpkin.
good question.
my first impression would be yes, but then again with a national audience waiting to watch, i’d hope not.

I don't think they are going to show any of the pregame events on TV
However, they said in the comments on “Chiefs’s LIVE!” today that they would have a video of it up later that night or the next day.
Fireworks and balloons...
KC has used the same pregame crap for opening day for years.
Politics aside, Obama would of better been served, buying 5 "new" football teams.
I swear man
Are you even a fan? I don’t think I have ever read a positive comment about the Chiefs from you.

well
he’s right, it usually is fireworks and balloons……
The picture is a Chiefs pumpkin, yeah that is right a Chiefs pumpkin.
I don't even remember balloons the last few times
But that’s not the point…….just can’t see the negativity before our first MNF game in forever!

The flyovers are awesome!
I am so disappointed when I go to a game and they don’t have one. You can see so many fans in Arrowhead looking up at the end of the National Anthem waiting for the flyover too.
I am so bummed out that I won’t be at the game to see the nighttime flyover and everything else that they have planned for the game on Monday.
Every year its the boxes that spell out Chiefs releasing balloons...
There won’t be a fly over at 9pm. There may be some washed up classic rocker.

hi, Mo! 5 minutes!!!
I think a night flyover would be cool
I just think there may be a little different ceremony to open up the renovated stadium.

Maybe KC Wolf will ride out on a ATV
and tackle some guy dressed as Charger fan.

Maybe this time he'll
“accidentally” run through the Chargers’ sideline and “un-douche” them by taking out Rivers!
Yeah but they will be wearing a Junior Seau and Natrone Means Jersey.
Funny they never where current players
We have a shot...at what...we don't know yet.
Is there a problem with tailgaters returning to their seats in time?
Maybe it’s just a gimmick so Arrowhead doesn’t look like this for opening kickoff on MNF

I actually closed my eyes then clicked on the link
but I doubt its some gimmick, they may actually have some good stuff.

The key is getting to your seat after the national anthem but before the coin toss...
do that and you have perfected your tailgate time management.

no way am I missing the national anthem...not in arrowhead. NO WAY!

agreed
that is my favorite tradition. That and “we’re gonna beat the hell outta you”
I know we talked about it before, but I can hardly hear the anthem anywhere without thinking or saying “Home of the Chiefs!”

Only way to get tickets (in advance) is to buy season tickets.

I was lucky enough to buy my season tickets from a friend.
6th Row 41 yard line. I am trying to get tickets for the Saints Vikings game thursday and it costs the same for a ticket as it did for the whole season in KC.
We have a shot...at what...we don't know yet.
Which anthem?
O Canada > Star Spangled Banner.

Oh Canada, hands down the best anthem out there
Politics aside, Obama would of better been served, buying 5 "new" football teams.
Truth
Take it away Bill Simmons:
Still, it can’t top the famous clip of the Edmonton Oilers fans singing “O Canada” before a 2006 playoff game, one game after Ducks fans booed the Canadian national anthem in Anaheim. Name me another sports clip that can give you chills for over a minute straight. You can’t.
by craig in calgary on Sep 7, 2010 2:04 PM CDT up reply actions
I don't remember that
I think its damn disrespectful to boo anyone’s national anthem…..except maybe Iran

Oh Canada is boring
The Star Spangled banner is about the home of the Chiefs…OK it’s about kicking the Brit’s arse. How much cooler can you get than that?
I hope it's an announcement that Kurt Warner is coming out of retirement and the 30 minutes is all he needs to warm up and be better then Cassel.

I just thought of that as well.
Checked his website and it’s not listed as a “tour date”. However, that’d be pretty awesome if that was the case.
Been done...
wasn’t he hommies with DT (or Niel Smith)? I remember him doign the coin toss at a MNF game in the 90’s.

Bocephus is my guess as well.
Toby is in HR, which technically means he works for corporate, so he's really not a part of our family. Also, he's divorced, so he's really not a part of his family.
That would definitely be awesome.

I seriously hope that dude starts sometime soon so the Chief’s can dominate him. I know its bad to actually “hate” players but I put him right up there with Phillip Rivers. I hope he has a horrible NFL career. Only thing is I NEVER want a player to get injured.
