Important Questions With THE PARADE

We'd probably just fanshot this, but they don't let you throw polls on that.  And as some of you may have gathered, the new SB nation Intellectual Property Fraidy Cat regime has more than likely spelled out the death of the PARADEBULATION.  Remember lovely reader, it's not their fault, it's Disney's.  Anywho, as Mickey Mouse may get pissed about any uncompensated absurd dolphin photo exploitation, we may have to satiate you dear reader with serious "football talk" (sports massage and homoerotic high-five not included {that said, apparently it's still cool for professional QB's to use other people intellectual property ie, unicorns self-erupting rainbows on HBO [see below]}).

So, as 'Nacho' and ourselves will have to get serious, here's a serious question, really, the ONLY question you or we or us should care about... IS IT ACCEPTABLE TO DRAFT THE "DUSTER" IN YOUR FANTASY LEAGUE?

We're not talking like your 18 player 12 starter World of Warcraft (not geeky enough to know if that metaphor is apt, but we like the sound of it so we'll roll with it) Keeper league.  No, no, we're talking your average run of the mill 8-10 player 8 starters 4 bench player fantasy league.  Basically if Darren Sproles is a day 1 no question starter for someone in your league, this question isn't for you.  If Justin Fargas is still gonna get drafted in your league, best move along.

But for the rest of us with lives, is Dex worth it?  Maybe, we could see if JC or TJ goes down there being a huge surplus for him.  He makes more sense than Devin Hester to us, and as a possible bench player if timed right could have the odd huge week.  You call it, have your way with the PARADE, no romo, but totallly sanchez, dirtied.

How awesome would that be if I could piss Roy G. Biv in perfect order

Oh, the endless stream of philosophic angles. Tickle me pot-o-gold takes on a whole new meaning. If I piss on a prism does it come out yellow? Will I be mobbed by horny leprechauns? Crossing my fingers on that one…

As for the many colors of Dex… I’d say drafting him in late rounds is acceptable… 12th or so. Hard to say whether he’ll be worth it, though. The amount of touches he’ll get week to week will most certainly be in flux. Completely unpredictable, this one.

I could definitely see him put up a Percy Harvin type of season. I think Harvin’s role was more defined, though. That could just be due to the Chiefs not wanting to show too much of this kid until the regular season.

The Chiefs will see a return to respectability in 2010, emerging as the front runner in the AFC West! ....And I'll quantify that however I choose. Ahem.

Remember when the Notre Dame leprechaun was black [Lou Holtz Era]?

First we thought it was weird, then for a while kinda cool, now, we’re back to it being weird.

Invert that and that’s probably how we feel about a late round McCluster pick-up. Take him before Ted Ginn, that’s for sure, talk about fantasy poison. You know at least one week he’s gonna blow up like vietnam, but there’s probably little to no non-chiefs fans that would draft him.

I prefer my leprechauns like I prefer my coffee

And no matter how you invert that, it’s just weird.

Dex is just sharing too many touches across all those positions. He’s not THE guy at returner, or RB, nor does he seem like the target option in a lot of pass plays. Buut it’s preseason, and we’ve really no indication of how often he will be used during the regular season. From all the hype in training camp, you wanna believe that they’re going to open the flood gates with that one and let him be the beast he can be underneath.

That might be worth the late-round flier or waiver-wire pickup. That IS what the late rounds are for, afterall. Worst case he doesn’t pan out early and you find another gem on the wire.

I drafted him in the 12th round 129 overall.

Kind of like the real draft, I knew the person behind me was going to pick him, otherwise I would have probably waited till the 13th round or 14th. But I am happy to have him. He just simply has so many ways to score you points. I also am in a PPR league and with all of the dump passes that Cassel has been throwing, I think he was definately worth a shot.

Smile, its the second best things you can do with your lips!

He is Jamaal Charles true handcuff

so if you have a reasonably high pick invested in Charles, he is definitely a must-own late round flier. Heck, even if you don’t he is a great option because if he ends up taking multiple snaps at RB/WC, he will be a more reliable fantasy option than all but a few WRs.

...And as the roar of 80,000 red-clad great plains warriors fills the hallowed halls of Arrowhead, it will strike fear into the hearts of lesser men. For on that field, individual men toil for something greater than individual honors. They toil as brothers-in-arms, as 53 spirits striving towards a single purpose and driven by a single goal: The glory that comes with vanquishing your foes. They will achieve their birthright, they will be champions.

I took him in the 5th....

Needed a RB and WR, so I split the difference. haha

I took him for a buck

In my auction draft. If he keeps getting over 6 ypc, he’ll get at least a few carries every game and possibly more, to go along with his receptions.

Also, as has been pointed out, if Charles goes down he’s the only guy that can replace his style of running, and he may become a hot commodity.

He can be had for virtually nothing, so if you have the roster spot, I see no reason to not grab him.

I love my wife, my kids, and the Chiefs. In that order. Except on game days.

yeah, I like the split wr/rb option he provides in yahoo leagues

We are 12 person league with 8/4 starters and bench. He would have gone undrafted in our league as I’m only Chiefs fan but I took him with my 10th right before def and k. Everyone else said, “who?” I said, “ya’ll are gonna be wanting him from me later!” I didn’t think he’d fall right for me but I ended up with Jamaal in 3rd round also.

The big question is do you play BOTH Jamaal and Dex in same game? I think with right matchup, you do. We’ll see!

AJohnson, RWhite, JCharles, TBrady, JBest, AFoster, KKolb, ABradshaw, JKnox, DMcCluster, Miami, LTynes

Chiefs WILL!

Depends on how homerish your league is.

If you play in a diverse league just look at ADP and go 10 (just shy of one round) spots higher. It’s really about value. Even if you were guaranteed that he would outscore all but the top 5 WR, if your competition didn’t know that you could use that top 10 pick on someone else and snag him later… if you were picking in this group you may have to take a third round flyer to snag him.
