I liked Page when he played for Herm

He really outplayed his draft position. I think he and Pollard just didn’t buy into the Haley system. I wish him well as long as he doesn’t play us.

Good riddance to bad rubbish

I don't understand the anger at Page

How is this any different than any other player who thinks he is worth more money than he is making? It’s business.

Don’t get why people are taking it so personal.

AGREED!!!!! Its a business

The man played way above his draft position for us and has some skills… I don’t understand blatant bashing either… I think it’s somewhat classless!

by KC FAN #1 on Sep 4, 2010 11:18 PM CDT up reply actions

I understand the situation....

at no time does a chiefs fan (the best of the best) become classless and talk down on anyone, anywhere, anytime… We wish them the best health and happiness. That’s all i’m saying…

thats a classy exit

Best wishes

this should be the most exciting Chiefs team in years! Most major needs filled with playmakers, and the league's best coaching staff... 10-6 a possibility?

agreed, his beef was with management

never with the fans.

That's not really true.

He wanted a trade about this time last season. When is the first time you heard about it? Nearly a year after the fact. Did the story come out because after a series of long talks Page wasn’t getting what he wanted? No, the store came out because the team wouldn’t talk to him and everyone (press, fans) kept asking what was up.

He will probably be on

in Quarter packages and 4th quarter for a couple plays for the starters to rest

I could care less if he stayed or left.

I am just glad we will get some type of compensation for him.

by Rowdy Chief on Sep 4, 2010 10:47 PM CDT reply actions

I agree with that statement but....

you can’t say he didn’t outplay his draft position… because he couldn’t get along with the brass or whatever happened there is a whole other ball game…. heehee my 2 cents… It is a business!

by KC FAN #1 on Sep 4, 2010 10:53 PM CDT up reply actions

No hard feelings jarrad

page made the interception that won the game against oakland on my one visit to arrowhead. I will always be forever grateful to him for making my one and only arrowhead trip a victory and an amazing memory. Thank you for your time here Jarrad, I am grateful. Sorry it had to end.

...And as the roar of 80,000 red-clad great plains warriors fills the hallowed halls of Arrowhead, it will strike fear into the hearts of lesser men. For on that field, individual men toil for something greater than individual honors. They toil as brothers-in-arms, as 53 spirits striving towards a single purpose and driven by a single goal: The glory that comes with vanquishing your foes. They will achieve their birthright, they will be champions.

Good Luck in New England... Page.

A classy way to head out into the sunset… that deserves a classy goodbye.

Go Chiefs!!!!

by ravenhawk on Sep 4, 2010 11:22 PM CDT reply actions

Not classy

Just because he says one positive comment about the fans doesnt take away how big of bitch he was acting like throughout the offseason. Page acting like a baby because he didnt get his way to me is not acceptable.

Wow

the dude acknowledges you…THE FANS….and you treat him like crap..That is classless. None of you, I repeat, NONE OF YOU, know the whole story. He was a Chief, played out of his mind for a 7th round pick, and was disputing his contract terms and the way he was being treated….no need to call him a bitch or Bash him.

That was a classy move Mr.Page. Good luck to you in your career.

You dont know the whole story either

If my opinion is that he was acting like a bitch then thats what im gonna say.

by bflowers24probowl on Sep 5, 2010 12:02 AM CDT up reply actions

but your admitting you don't know the situation....

Therefore, it becomes business. He had issues and maybe the organization did as well but you can’t bash him for that. Calling him a bitch is not only arrogant but ignorant

by KC FAN #1 on Sep 5, 2010 12:06 AM CDT up reply actions

Im admitting i dont know the WHOLE story

and i can bash him for whatever i want. Its MY opinion. Calling him a bitch is what i think, when a player publicly talks trash on any part of an organization just to get his way and try to force himself out i think its acting like a bitch.

Terelle Pryor is the future!!

I think hes just trying to save face now that hes gone.

no way he ever says he loves kc and the fans while hes here.

maybe it was true..

Haley and Pioli never denied it…just said, we dont talk about players that are not here. He was a player from the old regime. Is it any coincidence that damn near everyone is gone?…..So, i guess Tony G is a bitch in your mind too….he let it be known he wanted to be traded?

by KCinAZ on Sep 5, 2010 12:31 AM CDT up reply actions

quit implying us all as "we"

Anyone on here can have any opinion they want. There are no set rules to be a Chiefs fan so quit acting like there are.

by tomahawk44 on Sep 5, 2010 8:31 AM CDT up reply actions

ok...then its MY OPINION

that calling a player a bitch, about a situation you REALLY know nothing about, after he acknowledges his fans, is a CLASSLESS thing to do.

The proper thing to do, whether you agree with him or not, when he is gracious enough to acknowledge YOU, is to wish him well, or not say anything at all.
The guy is gone, let him be.

by KCinAZ on Sep 5, 2010 1:05 PM CDT up reply actions

Hes got you fooled

Obviously hes gonna try and save some face in KC now that hes gone. You think if he get his way he would have ever said anything about the fans. you think if the cheifs decided to sit him for the season he would acknowledge YOU. NO he would not. Proper thing to do is not to act like a baby because you dont like the way youve been treated. Also since when are you the authority when it comes to right and wrong. Please quit telling me what to do and think, Thanks.

please dont compare those two situations

Tony G never talked trash on the organization he wanted out but did it in a respectful way and is a HOF so i think he deserves what he asks for. if you think these players situations are even close to the same then you obviously have no brain. once again Page is BITCH!!

Terelle Pryor is the future!!

by bflowers24probowl on Sep 5, 2010 12:40 AM CDT reply actions

Look, man....

we all respect your opinion, you have the right to it, but as Chiefs fans, and part of this site, we’re trying to hold ourselves to a higher stander than bashing. Opinion is great, but slander….we’re better than that.
Also, KCinAZ was making a point. You’re entitled to your opinion, but you just said

“if you think these players situations are even close to the same then you obviously have no brain.”

and if that is the case, just like you, he is entitled to an opinion.

by Flower_Power on Sep 5, 2010 12:55 AM CDT up reply actions

ok my bad lol

ill take back the no brain comment. everything else ive said i stand by. but i dont think they respect my opinion when KCinAZ basically called me a bitch.

You are wasting your time

You are wasting your time….you cannot convince some fans to have intelligence and maturity. They either have it or they don’t.

by buglerchris on Sep 5, 2010 1:06 AM CDT up reply actions

Nobody knows if the Pats will give him an extension, as yet.

There has been no indication whether or not the Patriots intend to sign Page to an extension.

from http://www.patspulpit.com/2010/9/4/1669984/patriots-acquire-jarrad-page

But it’s pretty clear KC was happy just tendering the 1-year offer, which probably rankled the overachieving 7th rounder, who was wrong-footed by an extra year of RFA. He played this offseason pretty much like someone who was tired of risking it all for less than others who’ve started as many games.

"I ain't lyin' 'bout nothin'."
"Oh? So what exactly are you lying about?"

Kent Babb was annoying the S*** out of me on twitter today

Kept saying how big of a mistake it was to trade Page. Look dude, this is probably why you’re not working in the front office for an organization. You dont let your pride get in the way. You have to get something for the guy. And you have to trade him before he counts against the roster. YOU DO NOT, just punish him and make him sit the whole year. Thats childish.

Hopefully the pats had multiple 4th rd picks and we got one of them. I bet Babb wont be complaining if we draft a decent player with that pick.

by Larryemcdaniel on Sep 5, 2010 1:05 AM CDT reply actions

Well Page, I can't say I agree with the way you went about seeking a different team...

But, I wish you the best, only so that we can get the best possible draft pick from trading you….

I Really Liked Page

What’s with the vitriol against the guy? The dude played hard and had a knack for a big play late. His tackling was suspect but to the people that think he won’t see the field in New England? I guarantee you right here right now he’ll be starting by week four at FS.

Just watch.

by Ryan in Nixa on Sep 5, 2010 1:10 AM CDT reply actions

I think the honest reason

is because the guy had a good amount of talent, but it was frustrating that he couldn’t conform to the new plan. I too think people go overboard with their emotions. At the same time, why didn’t he just go with it?

by old_school on Sep 5, 2010 9:15 AM CDT up reply actions

how does

someone go to backing the guy earlier then bashing him the next all in one night? If our rookie class didn’t look as good as they are doing then maybe I would say keep him one more year but like everyone says, its a business

by chiefs316 on Sep 5, 2010 1:11 AM CDT reply actions

because he went to the pats, and thats in the family so to speak. Pats, Fins. Falcons...our friends right now...

if he goes anywhere else I think he takes some shots at us

So what do you think the "conditions" of the conditional draft pick are?

I would say if he has a good year, we get a 5th rounder.

I think 5-7 sounds about right

depending on the circumstances.

Of course, there’s always the chance the Chiefs get nothing, if he turns out to be a total bust in NE. But at least they’ll be rid of his contract/roster spot.

by Tarkus on Sep 5, 2010 2:50 AM CDT up reply actions

We're cool with Page

He wanted a raise and we brought in Eric Berry, that merits wanting a new job.

The mickey mouse shit with his brother/agent looked a little stupid, but props for keeping it in the family. If he was smart he’d get a real agent that was willing to mentor his brother. That said, for as unimpressive as his brother sounded on the radio, he seemed to do an okay job of dealing with it. Probably some of that has to do with Pioli’s office being a class act.

by Official Arrowhead Pride Parade on Sep 5, 2010 7:23 AM CDT reply actions

Would have been nice to see him back there with 29

…but i think Lewis will turn out to be a legit pro so i guess it works out for everyone

by RamX21 on Sep 5, 2010 10:24 AM CDT reply actions

much love to page

but two words ERIC BERRY, hes on the team, page is not, no reason to fight over someone thats not a CHIEF

by 67401erk on Sep 5, 2010 10:35 AM CDT via mobile reply actions

Only mistake I see in this....

is not moving him before the draft earlier this year for a pick THIS year. Next year the draft is going to be pretty slim pickings, especially where this pick is going to sit.

If you can sack groceries, you can sack a QB... right?
The kool-aid is now Berry flavored.

by IISaiNtII on Sep 5, 2010 2:38 PM CDT reply actions

Glad he's gone

He was a herm guy period. He was not a Chief. Herm was easy and coddled the players. He didn’t want any part of the new coaches here. Personally wish he would have gone to Detroit but now he has to deal with Belichick and that won’t get any easier for him.. SEE YA

People think there are 4 seasons. I beg to differ, there are 2...Football and Non Football Season!!!
