Kansas City Chiefs Roster Cut Down Rumors Picking Up
It's two and a half hours after the Kansas City Chiefs had to get down to 53 players on the roster. That means eliminating 22 roster spots.
As of this posting, the Chiefs, Indianapolis Colts, Cleveland Browns and Jacksonville Jaguars have yet to announce their cuts.
There are however some rumors picking up. We emphasize rumors here -- the Chiefs haven't announced anything yet.
The official Twitter page for UMass Athletics says, "Coach Brian Crist heard from Jeremy Horne, has made the KC Chiefs roster!" Horne is an undrafted free agent but I think a good chunk of folks figured he'd make it.
GophersIllustrated.com says nose tackle Garrett Brown made the Chiefs final roster (Update: Brown was released). Even if he were released he could be a practice squad candidate.
610 Sports' Nick Wright says Tyler Palko has been cut. That would leave the Chiefs with just two quarterbacks on the roster.
That's what people are saying but as of this posting the Chiefs haven't made anything official.

Cox supposedly posted on his Facebook that he's in.
I don’t have access to it, but two readers mentioned it previously tonight.

Mizzou won
QB needs to learn to step up into the pocket, but looked good for the most part

Wildcats had a nice win against the Pac 10...

daniel thomas is a stud

Thanks!
I was thinking Thomas could be a Heisman dark horse this year, but he probably won’t get much mention coming from the little school in the Flint Hills in the town everyone assumes is in NY.

Huskers are best
Taylor Martinez is the real deal
Huskers are *beast*
best could be too bold at this point
umm
Huskers are playing Western Kentucky and I believe Zac Lee is still the starter. Let us know when you play someone. :)
by Chief Willie Wildcat on Sep 4, 2010 8:34 PM CDT up reply actions
ill let you know when we play mizzu
and martinez will be the starter
For the Huskers sake I hope Martinez does start
or the defense will have to carry the team because of an anemic offense again this year.

Good that KSU won because...
…KU is stinking it up against a D2 (FCS?) opponent. At least one KS team will be decent this year.
not sure about that one
I’m not sold on Coffman. I think we’re an average team. If opponents defend our running game well, we’re in trouble.

Give Turner some time
Though he’s a Husker (cough), he’ll build a nice program.
by Chief Willie Wildcat on Sep 4, 2010 8:48 PM CDT up reply actions
I'm sure he will...
…just won’t do it with this year’s roster.
Both KS schools will never be OU or UT...
where they just reload instead of rebuilding. Turner is a classy coach and in a few years the university and fans will be proud to have him.

My problem isn't with Turner.
I like Turner as a coach. I liked what he did at Buffalo even though he had a losing record. I just don’t think he has the players he needs to be able to compete this year. Seriously, if they don’t beat NDSU tonight, who do they beat?
I'm sorry...
I just saw the score and thought they might have mistook the score for Royals vs. Tigers. Honestly though, everyone will have years like this. Take each game with a teaspoon of sugar and hope that they improve week to week as opposed to just looking at W’s and L’s.

I'm just glad I'm not at Memorial Stadium right now.
I almost went to KU, and essentially back home, for my PhD, but decided against it. Otherwise, I’d be at the game instead of watching online.
I really liked the Turner Gill hire. Still do. I have a lot of faith in him.
But I’m still not sold on moving our top rusher from last year from halfback to linebacker. The fact that our ground attack was terrible tonight doesn’t do much to dissuade me of those doubts, either…
I'm suprised no one has mentioned...
…that Utah State is giving Oklahoma a run for its money.
I wonder...
If OU’s defense is that bad or if the Aggies are saying there’s more football in Utah other than the Utes and the Cougars
by Chief Willie Wildcat on Sep 4, 2010 9:06 PM CDT up reply actions
Utah State is decent...
…but I wonder about OU’s defense this year in Big 12 play. I think they’ll get beaten up on a regular basis and have to have their offense bail them out.
Come to think of it...
that’s pretty common for them. Their defense is average, but the offense just out guns the other teams offense.
by Chief Willie Wildcat on Sep 4, 2010 9:11 PM CDT up reply actions
I think that's why...
…UT has gotten a knack for developing pass rushers.
why is it...
that a deadline can pass two hours and a handful of teams can still not “disclose” or “announce” their cuts… seems like a convenient way to get some extra time to make your choices…
We want to be the last team to announce...
Pioli wants every split second advantage in checking the waiver wire.
From twitter
JoshLooney 13 #Chiefs Released: C. Brown, G. Brown, Gales, B. Greenwood, D. Harris, Herron, Lokey, Morgan, Palko, Price, Tucker, Walters and J Williams
Irritated by the Walters cut
They carried him on the roster all year last year because they were afraid someone would take him only to cut him this year.
Poor Javaris Williams. How many times has he been cut now?
wow... a little surprised about Colin Brown being cut.
Go Chiefs!!!!
Harris and Brown...wow...both brown's?
so glad to see morgan on that list
not as stoked for williams

I would believe that too. He must be going to practice squad.
He’ll be a Chief most likely in the end.
