Mark Shlereth, former Bronco and current ESPN analysist stated this morning it would not surprise him if Brady Quinn is cut. If so, would Charlie Wies make a case for him in KC.
Remember Coach Charlie had him at Notre Dame. Palko is not the answer, so would an unproven, ex-first rounder, with game experience fit in as our third string QB? Has Quinn even showed that he has anything worthwhile to bring to our team?
Obviously he had some good skills when he was made a first round draft choice, as Cleveland traded back into the first round to draft him. What has he done lately? Traded from Cleveland for a running back to the Donkeys. He's not been impressive in preseason on his new team, with Tebow expected to beat him out of the back up job. Throw in a few INT's and he is suddenly on the outside, looking for a job. Very Possible.
Enter the KC Chiefs and Coach Wies. Having a talented, but uncertain commodity who Charlie has experience with, prolably knowing what buttons to push, comes in to a familiar offense and is not asked to do much but learn the system and run the scout team.
What I am unsure about is his salary, which is surely part of the reason for his release in Denver. First round dollars as a third stringer. If cut by Denver then he would not be due his contract money or would he. I just don't know how that works in the NFL.
But what I am sure of is that I would rather have him than Palko. Surely Pioli is keeping an eye on the Waiver Wire for another QB. Just a what if scenario from a comment made on tv. GO CHIEFS!!!!
