Bears Join Chiefs, Steelers As NFL's Only Undefeated Teams After Week 3
And then there were three.
The Chicago Bears met the Green Bay Packers on Monday Night Football in what was a battle of two of the NFL's four undefeated teams.
Jay Cutler and the Bears took home the victory making them the third undefeated team after Week 3.They join the Kansas City Chiefs and Pittsburgh Steelers.
The Chiefs are heading into the bye week so they'll be on this list until at least Oct. 10 when they meet the Indianapolis Colts.
As for the Bears and Steelers...Chicago heads to New York to play the Giants while the Steelers will host the Baltimore Ravens.
It's possible the Chiefs could be the NFL's final undefeated team.

Lol its monday dude
I messed up on like 4 of my tables today. Go to bed. I am.
Anyhow, that was a pretty damn good game, even if I was surrounded by Packer fans. Can’t wait till we’re the only ones left standin with _-0.

love it!
it was an “ugly win” but I’m happy it was the Bears and not GB…..:)

It’s got a good ring to it doesn’t?
Can we be the AFC West Champions in 2010. You better believe it

Last time we heard that
was 2003…then we lost to the bengals and chad johnson’s loud/cocky attitude was born by telling everyone they would win…then the no punt playoff game. but yes it is nice to hear
Hey, look everybody!
It’s Cutler being Cutler.
He got completely bailed out of another 3+ pick game
by tossing only one pick ... so that's how you do it

hi, Mo! 5 minutes!!!
There will be 2 undefeated teams after next weekend
Bears will beat the Giants (who are a mess) but I think Baltimore steam rolls the steelers. By steamroll, I mean 9-6

I think the Bears are for real
and I agree, the Ravens are going to steal a game here, Anquan Boldin is freaking unstoppable. Now I’ll raise the question. Arenas or Boldin?
2010 predictions live by em die by em
- Chiefs do what they did last year and double their win total.. Good for a second place finish in the AFC West
-McCluster is considered for ROY, doesn't win it
- Arenas takes two to the house
- Carr becomes a legitimate corner
-Flowers gets jipped in Pro Bowl voting
I wanted Boldin Baaaad
(no homo)…i thought they should have given one of our second round picks for him…If i remember correctly, the Ravens gave a 3rd and they swapped 4ths..something like that. He was also a Haley guy, great leader, great locker room guy..but then again im not a GM..
Playoffs are a REAL possibility in 2010...just need few tweeks here and there.
I wouldn't touch our thirds as it is
but with Mccluster showing up big in returns a second probably would have net us an extra fifth. Meh, coulda shoulda woulda. We’re still 3-0

yup!
Im live in Phoenix, so Ive watched a lot of Boldin and the Cards, they kinda grow on ya…….but Boldin is a friggin warrior…Shattered his jaw, had 8 screws in his face, and only missed 2 games….and had NO FEAR going over the middle his first game back…..i want that kind of guy on MY TEAM….a lot of guys were saying they wouldnt give up the draft picks, I say why gamble on a rookie when you can have a ProBowler thats already proven himself in the NFL..

Not me...
Jay Cutler will blow it soon or later. He presses to hard to make throws and often throws into double and triple coverage. Jay Cutler plays like his grandpa Brett Favre. Remember Cutler’s days in Denver…LOL.
And believe it or not but Cutler and the Bears will struggle against the Vikings, Lions, and Panthers…
12/18/11 – Miami? Yes Miami will beat the Bears
1128/11 – Vick and the Eagles will beat the Bears
12/12/11 – Patriots will beat the Bears
12/26/11 – Jets will beat the Bears
1/2/11 – Green Bay will beat Bears on second chance
Cutler tried to give it away with a couple of picks near the end
but the Packers wouldn’t accept the gift. A couple of penalties overturned turnovers that would’ve given Rodgers the ball with 2 minutes left in a tie game. I’d put money on the Packers winning in that situation just about any time.
If someone told Anthony Torbio that after the first quarter of the season the Cheifs would have a better record than the Packers
he’d say you’re a friken lunatic

when i hear that it really gets under my skin
how many do we have to win before everyone stop declaring the opposing team just got off to a slow start, or are not weather teams, or aren’t “really” good teams
Unfortunate Situation
But with our record the last 3 seasons,we have no choice but to put up with it for another few (4?) games or so. We haven’t earned respect for the past few years, so we have to now. It sucks, but that’s how it is.

Maybe when the teams we beat
are better than a combined 2-7 record. Beat Indy and some may start to turn our way…but I can see how some will spin it as Indy having an off year (post Superbowl loss and all. Those teams always do bad)
We...
have to beat the Colts on the road.

So, here's a question for AP...
Who’s presently the best team in the NFL? The Bears are Chiefs are obviously surprise undefeateds (and the Bears are a lot more legit than I’ve given them credit for) but they probably still aren’t the very best in the league. I might be able to make a case for the Steelers though. What they’ve done without Bad Touch Ben has been pretty impressive, and that D is terrifying, but the run game hasn’t been spectacular considering how much they’ve been wanting to lean on it.
Other candidates exist but all have issues. The Saints (who still aren’t hitting on all cylinders yet), the Pats (whose defense/ running game seem iffy), the Colts (iffy run game, terrible run D), the Eagles (how much longer can Vick play like this), The Texans (no secondary), the Falcons (iffy defense, oddly inconsistent at times on offense), and the Packers (no run game, injured secondary, prone to shooting themselves in the foot) could all be contenders, but none have looked dominant yet.
Now I know there’s no such thing as a flawless team, but last year we knew (or at least suspected) that teams like Colts, Saints, and Vikings were for real. I’m not sure I have that sense about anyone yet this year.
So how about it, who’s the best team in the league?
the homer in me says the undefeated teams
and I know that’s a little crazy but I honestly wouldn’t have said that before tonight. And that’s because I thought the Packers would roll the Bears and yet found a way to lose despite Cutler trying his hardest to throw the game and Rodgers looking amazing.
I guess I should say I’m not saying I’m just saying… but there’s only three undefeated teams after three weeks and one of them is the Chiefs.
But honestly probably way too early to say anyone’s the best.
I know this sounds bias but i dont care
Right NOW the Chiefs…yes, the Chiefs are the best in football.I’m not crazy, if it weren’t for Berry giving up the 3 touchdowns on those deep routes 40+ td passes, KC would have arguably 3rd best defense against the score and top 5 overall…For everyone else (Steelers) good teams find ways to win when they aren’t playing well. Well guess what, we didn’t play well game one and two but through Special Teams and Defense we weather the storm… Why aren’t the rules for good teams not applicable to the Chiefs??? Again… RIGHT NOW we are the Best Team in Football just as well as you could argue the Steelers or Bears are…
meh ... we've had one dominant performance and two barely get by games
one of which was in a hurricane for much of the game, and a season opener on MNF at that, which skews a lot of things right there … the other was a game we were fortunate to come back and win with a FG late in the game and then hang on, against a team we’d all like to think is clearly inferior in terms of talent and coaching, yet we came perilously close to losing that one
sure, record-wise we’re TIED for the best, but to say we’re THE BEST TEAM right now is stretching the rubber band just about to the breaking point
Koolaid anyone?

koolaid, sure
but how many of those games were we expected to win?
if you’re going to argue “record-wise” you also have to factor in “stats-wise” which have us doing pretty well league-wide in areas of the games you have to do well in to win. The first two wins may have been ugly or whatever but there’s a reason we won them.
again, i think best is a stretch. I think describing anyone as best this early is unfair. But on the same token, to shrug us off as having been undefeated due to luck is unwarranted. Ugly wins, sure.. but wins that good teams have to get. Wins we haven’t been able to secure for the longest time.
I agree
We made some luck. Some of the times did not. SD blew two games by the ST’s that we beat them by. Lightening twice indicates a problem in SD that two teams capitilized on.

And we blew a coverage that gave them a TD.
I’m not sure why the media dismisses special teams as luck. It’s every bit as part of the game as offense and defense. Either you execute and make plays or you don’t.
Cleveland and SF shut that down pretty good
We need some blocking on the Gunners and get those punt returns working again. Coach Hoffman, are you listening?

Pats can score like nobody's business, Ravens have the scariest defense in the league (as usual) ...
Texans are tough, don’t kid yourself … as are the Packers and yes, Da Bears
oh, and I hear there’s an up-and-coming team in the midwest somewhere that might be a surprise this year, hmmmmmmmmm … the Rams DID win a game this weekend

hi, Mo! 5 minutes!!!
Its still early in the seasons boys
teams are just starting to gel, some gel later….still learning playbooks, new OC DCs, new schemes ect… an injury to a key player can kill a team, or multiple injuries….like the Steelers, they look like a totally different team when Polamaulu is not playing….
If I had to choose the best team it would probably be The Steelers….just too dominate defensively, and in two weeks get their 2 time SB winning QB back.( if he doesnt sexually assault another woman before then).
Its too early to predict right now. Hell, if the Chiefs fall flat on their face from this point forward, us fans might be upset and disappointed, but the rest of the football world is not going to be surprised…..

Since you're here...fanpost or fanshot?
I’ve been curious after posting a 3-0 mark, how people’s 2011 drafts look. Not necessarily who, but what they think the needs are. I have a feeling they’ve drastically changed their outlook and I thought it’d make good bye week fodder.

Its funny
NOBODY would think that these three teams would be the ones undefeated right now…everybody thought,“the chiefs suck” “the bears are a mess” and “the steelers will be lucky to be 2-2 when Big Ben gets back”..
Playoffs are a REAL possibility in 2010...just need few tweeks here and there.
Pats can score, no doubt about that
and agree with upamtn that the Texans are for real. When they get it all going, they are gonna be really tough to stop. Flacco is going to get better, and that means the Ravens have to be in this group too…that defense is scary good. All of the 3-0 teams have to be accouted for, they are undefeated and at 3-0 most teams make the playoffs.
KC has a 2 game lead on the AFC West. This is gonna be fun folks!!!
Old guys rule...yeah you might have youth and talent on your side...but I have time and treachery...
Unless Houston shores up the Passing game forget em
The Chiefs are better and for that matter farther along than the Texans right now.

Texans are for real...the DB's arent great, but they can and do get after the QB
A healthy Andre Johnson and Arian Foster makes them very dangerous.

We will see
Andre Johnson and Schabbe are definitely not a combo we have face yet.
But we will see Manning and Collie first. Arian is better than Gore?
I am not sure that any team we are to face has faced a team like us yet?

And that was despite picking the Chiefs to upset the 49ers…

Best survival league pick?
Saints at home over the Panthers
or
Chargers at home over the Cardinals?
Both teams are desperate for a win, but I can’t see the Saints losing two straight at home, especially with the latter against the Panthers.
OTOH, I can only pick a team once in the season, and I may want to save the Saints for another day.
Id take the Chargers anyway..
just because the Cardinals passing attack is so weak, …they almost lost to the Raiders this weekend. Derek Anderson is just not a good QB…he has weapons everywhere and cant hit anyone…If the chargers put up 20 on em, and they will, they will win.
Playoffs are a REAL possibility in 2010...just need few tweeks here and there.
Yeah, I'm definitely leaning towards the Chargers.
I’m not sure if I’ll ever trust them this much again, while I’m pretty confident that the Saints will be a strong pick again later on.
