Todd Haley Uses Old Bill Parcells Trick, Gives Chiefs Players Slice Of Cheese

Stay connected for news and updates

Here's an interesting story coming from ESPN's Chris Mortensen on Sunday NFL Countdown.

After the Kansas City Chiefs defeated the San Diego Chargers on Monday Night Football two weeks ago, Chiefs head coach Todd Haley gave the players a piece of cheese.

Why?

"Don't take the bait."

Apparently, it's an old BIll Parcells technique designed to remind players against the dangers of getting over-confident.

People outside of One Arrowhead Drive were hyping the Chiefs big-time after their Week 1 victory but the message we heard from everyone associated with the team is the "It's just one win" mentality.

Considering they beat the Cleveland Browns the following week, the trick worked.
