Two games into the 2009 season the Chiefs had commited 14 penalties for 119 yards lost.

Here is a quote from Haley after our 2nd game in 2009 against the Raiders

"When you have nine penalties, two turnovers and a couple other lapses, you’re not going to win most of the time," he said. "We didn’t get the result we wanted. We’re going to have a smart team here. Nine penalties and a couple of those things don’t reflect a smart team. We’re going to get back to work because we’re going to have a smart team here."

After 2 games in 2010 we only have commited 7 total for 65 yards lost. The Chiefs are looking a lot 'smarter" this season.

This time last season our starting RB was Larry Johnson who had 35 carries, 98 yards, 2.8 ypc, 0 tds, while Jamal Charles had a whopping 4 carries, 8 yards, 2.0 ypc, 0 tds after the first 2 games...

Combined total of 39 carries, 106 yards, 2.7 ypc, 0 tds.

This season our starting RB is Thomas Jones who has 33 carries, 122 yards, 3.7 ypc, 0 tds, while Jamal Charles has 22 carries, 151 yards, 6.4 ypc, 1 tds...

Combined total of 55 carries, 273 yards, 4.9 ypc, 1 tds.

While most admit that the 2010 Chiefs have a long way to go before we are a real contender in the NFL it is clear to me that after just one year under Pioli / Haley / Co the Chiefs are better team in amost every way conceivable.
