Okay I know we just won and all YAY! But lets calm down and get back to the drawing board. Next week we play the 49ers, who are not "what we thought they are" (Dennis Green Reference). Also I have the mentality of a coach rather than a lot of fans. For example, We're 2-0; I don't care about stats at all (only to a certain degree) as long as we get
a W and not L. The only analogy that I can think of is "I really don't care how we win as long as we win". What I mean is I don't care if we win 7-5 versus 42-35. A win is a win and the tape is there to break it down. I know we all want Matt Cassel to improve but I'm willing to give the man some time. kay enough about me and lets get to the COLD HARD FACTS: Keys to Victory. FEATURING CasselKiller
DEFENSE: Let's get pressure on Alex "the bust Smith. (no offense niners) Hali needs to step it up but I would like to see Hail move everywhere. Lets get him some action at ROLB, LOLB, and hands down in the dirt. I wouldn't want Joe Staley to get to comfortable with him. I mean Joe Staley is the most athletic tackle in the NFL (remember when he first came out, yea he was fast but didn't live up to expectation) but he is not the most gifted (bad technique/footwork). I think this is Hali's game right here to shine right out of the gate. I can see him getting 2 sacks and that's a pretty big statement.
Also, I mentioned this in a fanpost but lets get 7 to 8 in a box and stop Frank Gore on 1st & 2nd down. We get them into 3rd and long and whatdayaknow, we have the advantage. Alex Smith scares me none so 3rd and 6 is where we want them when they feel like they can attack our NT.
Secondary: Yeah a strength of the team with Flowers and Carr leading the way. Flowers will hold his own but if Carr can step up then we have roaming safeties over the top, or in the box depending on the situation. I also think Berry will be a force in this game. I mean it's the perfect storm, a below avg QB and Wr's that doesnt scare me too much. I do want Eric Berry to detach the TE's. Vernon Davis is pretty good to most people's standard but I don't think he is legit at all. Just my personal opinion.
LBs: Aside from Tamba, DJ needs to be in plays. We need DJ here and I expect him to have a lot of tackles because they run a lot. Running equates tackles. He need to meet Frank Gore at the point and hold his own.
Prediction: Eric Berry gets no pick but walks away playing sound football. Tamba gets to sacks I mean 2oo sacks.
Defense gives up 17 points which comes down to the
OFFENSE: I believe MC will have to make a play to win. He can get carried for so long but he worries me a little bit. I believe he explodes in this game. I won't get too much into the offense because it is what it is. Somebody else can do that but I'll say Bowe must get better seperation *looking at you too Chambers* to help the I need a pretty big window Matt Cassel. At the end I believe MC is our QB and I'm willing to give him the whole season. Brodle Croyle is our QB next year if MC does bad. Can't say if management feels the same way though.
We lose if: Our secondary gives up 40+ yards for a TD or we go down 2 possessions in the 1st half
Final Prediction: Tamba to sacks I mean 2 sacks, Matt Cassel throws over 225 yards, we get one pick. MC throws 1 pick. Win at home 3-0
Whats some of your's?
