Kansas City Chiefs Beat The Green Bay Packers 17-13

Stay connected for news and updates

Finally, after seven straight NFL preseason losses, the Kansas City Chiefs broke that streak by beating the Green Bay Packers 17-13.

Joel is in the locker room now and he will be back soon with first hand information.  Here are a few bits of info to tide you over:

  • The Chiefs scored two touchdowns. One was a short TD catch by TE Leonard Pope from QB Matt Cassel. The next TD was a short run by RB Jackie Battle. Battle rumbled for 50 yards before that to set up the touchdown. He made the roster tonight.
  • Kansas City's offense, especially the rushing game, looks very good in my opinion. Dexter McCluster, Jamaal Charles and Thomas Jones are the best running back corp in the league.
  • The Chiefs' secondary got torn up a bit, giving up over 300 yards passing to Packers QB Matt Flynn. There wasn't a lot of QB pressure to help the secondary though.
  • Javier Arenas is the real deal - both in the return game and on defense.

Overall, this game was a big positive for the Chiefs'.
